Prayer for 80th birthday

Father God, once again I feel the need to come before you and seek your favor upon someone dear to me. This is for a person who will be 80 years of age next month. She feels as though her back end isn’t as strong as it used to be. She has experienced trouble moving from sitting to standing in the past few years, an issue that she says comes on frequently when she kneels at the end of her bed to pray. I want this 80th birthday to be a memorable one for her, Lord. She has waited patiently to see you face-to-face, and now that day is approaching quickly.

We pray for God’s blessings to descend upon Asma, who will turn 80 soon. May God bless her with health and long life.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you that today Nancy has turned eighty years old. Thank you that she is healthy and fit, but most of all thank you for your love for her and for bringing her into your family so many years ago. Thank you for the opportunity to come together as a family to celebrate with her. In the days ahead help her to appreciate the gifts of family, good health and friends. Help us to be faithful witnesses of your love at all times, even when we feel inadequate or unsure. Praise God in his Son Jesus Christ our Lord forever Amen.

Dear Lord,

Please watch over [name] as she celebrates her 80th birthday.

She has lived a life of faith and service to others, and we pray that you will continue to inspire her in this way.

Give her health, happiness, and the strength to keep going until she’s 100!

Prayer for 80th birthday

Congratulations on your 80th birthday. Since you have successfully completed 80 glorious years of your life, it is time for us to celebrate your birthday together. Here’s a prayer I have composed on behalf of you and the entire family.

Heavenly Father,

Dear Heavenly Father,

We thank you for bringing us together today. We pray that your presence will be with us, and that we may reflect upon the life we have lived as we look back upon our 80th birthday. We ask that you help us to appreciate where we are in life, and what a blessing it is to reach this milestone. Help us to acknowledge those who have helped and supported us along the way as well as those who have touched our lives in meaningful ways; let their names be remembered throughout this celebration. Help us all feel refreshed by Your spirit at this time of reflection so that we may continue reaching out into the world around us with love and compassion for others. And finally Lord God, thank You for allowing me another glorious year on earth! Amen

Today we lift up DAD in our prayers, on his special day. We know that this is a day which means so much to him and we thank You for the joy he feels, as his family and friends are gathered together to celebrate this wonderful landmark in his life.

We pray that you would bless him with good health, peace, happiness and contentment as he enters another year of life. Help him to continue to grow in faithfulness and walk closely with You while serving others through love and service.

We lift up Dad’s children and grandchildren who will gather around today; may they be encouraged by their father’s example of faithfulness over many years. May they also learn from his loyalty and devotion as he has served them unconditionally throughout their lives until now!

Father we thank You for all You have done in the life of our father. From the crown of your creation, in his youth, to the wizened old man now before us today – he has been a faithful follower of Your Son Jesus Christ and we bless You for the godly heritage that has been passed onto us and our children, from dear DAD.

Your servant DAVID is now 80 years old on this day (Insert Date) so we pray that you would strengthen him in body and spirit as he enters what many believe to be their final decade.

May I ask that as he continues to grow older he will never forget how much You love him and how special it is for someone who lives out their days knowing that they are loved by God?

Help us Lord to be loyal companions to him in his declining years, as he enters into the evening of life and we ask that he may feel refreshed and comforted, as he receives our greetings and gifts today as a token of our love and appreciation.

To be a good companion to your loved one, you need to:

  • Be there for them when they need you.
  • Give gifts that are meaningful and will bring them joy. You can help remind them of their past accomplishments by giving them something that reminds them of those times, or something they used to enjoy doing with you. Try giving an old photograph or some cherished memento from the past, such as a photo album or home movie.
  • Spend quality time just talking about anything at all; don’t just focus on the gift itself, because it’s not all about what’s in your hands – it’s also what comes out of your mouth! A gift is only great if it comes from the heart and is given with love from someone who cares about another person enough not only care about what they like as much as themselves (or at least pretend), but also make sure everyone else had fun too so nobody feels left out afterwards.”
Bless each one who has come to join with us on this special occasion. We ask that peace and joy may surround him like a shield and help him to cherish the days ahead. May it be that he can look back with fond remembrance on those that have gone before him, knowing the faithfulness of God to him through all the years of his life. This we ask in Jesus name. AMEN

Blessing for 80th Birthday

Blessed are you, Lord our God who blesses mankind; you are the source of all blessings given to your people Israel; You give them food and drink, you lead them into battle and rescue them from their enemies’ hands; now look at your servant [name], whose birthday we celebrate today [date]. He is one of Your people Israel who love You and trust in You wholeheartedly; Protect his body by guarding it against illness so that he may enjoy all these blessings until old age comes upon him, until death takes away his youthfulness.”

scripture for 80th birthday

Birthdays are a time for joy and reflection. Another year older, another year better, right? Still, sometimes it can be difficult to find just the right words to write in a birthday card for your friend or family member. (Trust us: No one wants another “over the hill” joke.) This year, look to the Bible for words of wisdom to share on the special day.

The scriptures are chock-full of encouraging words for celebrating those yearly milestones. There’s perspective and hope for the future year ahead, love from a God who’s made you unique in every way, and security in knowing He’s been there since you were born and will be there till the end. Whether you’re looking for a special birthday quote for your sister, a meaningful birthday quote for mom, or a heartfelt birthday quote for your husband, one of these messages is sure to apply, and the recipient will treasure the words you chose for him or her.

And if you’re celebrating your birthday, know that you are one of a kind and the only one who gets to be you, celebrating a birthday today. So sit back and receive all the love coming your way!

80th birthday speech

Speeches can be very nerve wracking for the speaker, but they can also be highly entertaining for the audience. An 80th birthday is a momentous occasion that will probably bring the whole family together, so it it is important to do the speech justice. Make sure you are fully prepared — if you’re not, you could seem unthoughtful. Treat the speech as a personal thank you to the person and use words with which you are comfortable.

Step 1

Determine the amount of time you want your speech to take. As the recipient of the speech is 80, he or she may be hard of hearing or uncomfortable sitting through a long speech. Even if you’re given a long time for the speech, or you have no time limit at all, you should still keep the speech brief, funny and informative.

Step 2

Consider your audience. A speech for an 80th-birthday party is going to be much different from, for example, a speech for a 21st-birthday party. The humor will need to be different, and the content will need to be different. Think about the person you are writing the speech for and think about his or her personality to determine the content.

Step 3

Write your introduction first. Let your audience know who you are and why you are there. For example, if it is your grandfather’s 80th-birthday party, start by saying, “Hi, my name is Y, and I am X’s grandson.” Your audience will immediately warm to you and want to listen to your speech.

Step 4

Decide on the information you want included in the speech. Do you want stories of the birthday boy or girl’s childhood or adolescence? Do you want to include messages from other people? Some people think bullet pointing speech topics helps with this part of the process.

Step 5

Come up with a suitable conclusion to your speech. For example, you could say, “Thanks for listening…Can we all raise our glasses to X, who is 80 today?”. This will conclude your speech and make it feel rounded and finished. Unsuccessful speeches feel unfinished to the audience, and you do not want that to be the case with yours.

Step 6

Add pictures or video footage to your speech. If you want extra help during your speech, or if you are not feeling confident, prepare a slideshow of footage that could be played behind you as you are delivering your speech. You could include pictures of the birthday boy or girl’s birth, childhood, and marriage, or pictures of their parents and their family. You could also include a pre-recorded birthday message from other relatives.

Tip

Keep calm. Speeches can be extremely nerve wracking, but the worst thing you can do is get worked up.

Conclusion

I hope that this prayer for an 80th birthday has been a blessing to you. May God bless and guide your loved one in their life.
