BIBLE VERSES ABOUT WORK PROBLEMS

The problem of workplace conflicts can be a demoralizing and draining one, with negative consequences for both you and your employer. Not only does workplace conflict lead to poor performance and reduced productivity, it can often result in lasting damage to your professional reputation and relationships. But how do you know if this is just part of the job or something more serious?

The Bible is filled with scripture that can help you cope with work-related problems. For example, one of my favorite verses to help me through a difficult workplace situation is Psalm 31:24. It reads, “Be strong and courageous! Do not be terrified or afraid of them; for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” The verse encourages me to remember that God is always on my side no matter what may come my way. I try to focus on this verse when facing any obstacles rather than allowing them to overwhelm me.

God wants his children to work hard, so we can live a better life and take care of ourselves and our belongings.

  1. 4. 2 Thessalonians 3:10 – There is no food for a lazy person.

For even when we were with you, we commanded you this: If anyone will not work, neither shall he eat. 2 Thessalonians 3:10 (NKJV)

The scripture has expressly instructed that a lazy man should not be allowed to eat. It is completely wrong for a man to neglect work and want to eat.

Any man who wants to eat when he has not worked is to be regarded as a thief.

  1. Proverbs 14:2- Working hard is profitable.

In all labor there is profit, but mere talk leads only to poverty. Proverbs 14:23 (AMP)

A lazy man will only talk about what he wants and never work to get it. Labor will profit. Working hard will always pay than being lazy.

When you work hard you are able to foot your bills and cater to others around you. We don’t just work hard to give ourselves a better life but to give others also a meaningful life.

That’s why God urges us to work hard because through it the kingdom will be propagated.

  1. Proverbs 22:29 – Hardwork places you before kings.

Do you see a man skillful and experienced in his work? He will stand [in honor] before kings; He will not stand before obscure men. Proverbs 22:29 (AMP)

A lazy man will never soar high in life. Your hard work and diligence will place you before kings. Working hard in your organization will lift you to high levels where you interact with people of great personalities.

It pays to work hard and be diligent because you can tell the awesome experience that awaits you in your journey to success.

  1. Proverbs 12:11 – Hard work brings plenty.

A hard worker has plenty of food, but a person who chases fantasies has no senseProverbs 12:11 (NLT)

Hard work will always bring plenty. A lazy man will always settle for less or nothing because he has no sense of life.

Solomon compares the importance of creative effort with the folly of squandering time in this poem.

A fool wastes his time chasing after dreams, such as finding hidden gold.

In today’s world, it makes sense for someone to work, care for their house and family, and so on. People who are foolish leave those jobs undone while focusing on other, less vital activities.

  1. Romans 12:11-12 – Rejoice in your hard work.

Never be lazy, but work hard and serve the Lord enthusiastically. Rejoice in our confident hope. Be patient in trouble, and keep on praying. Romans 12:11-12 (NLT)

The scripture admonishes us to never think of being lazy but rather put on our best in working to produce tangible results the help us become better.

Rejoice in your hard work, for the reward is bountiful. Do all you do with great joy and enthusiasm, knowing your reap in joy.

  1. 2 Timothy 2:6-7 – A hard-working man will enjoy his labor first.

And hardworking farmers should be the first to enjoy the fruit of their labor. Think about what I am saying. The Lord will help you understand all these things. 2 Timothy 2:6-7 (NLT)

A lazy cannot have a share in a hard-working man’s labor. The farmer who planted will be the one to harvest. A lazy man will always be left with nothing

Paul was a soldier and an athlete (2 Timothy 2:5) and  “the hard-working farmer.” Interestingly, Paul defines this class by offering a specific sort of farmer, a hardworking farmer.

Not everyone who worked on a farm in Timothy’s day was completely dedicated to it. Those who were dedicated, on the other hand, had a right to be compensated for their efforts.

  1. Proverbs 10:4-5 – A hard-working always maximize opportunities.

Poor is he who works with a negligent and idle hand, but the hand of the diligent makes him rich. He who gathers during summer and takes advantage of his opportunities is a son who acts wisely, but he who sleeps during harvest and ignores the moment of opportunity is a son who acts shamefully. Proverbs 10:4-5 (AMP)

A lazy man due to his laziness will never see opportunities to use the resources he has for his life to get better, while a hard-working man is always ready before any opportunities set in for him.

Examples of working hard in the Bible

  1. 1 Corinthians 4:12-13 (AMP)

We work [for our living], working hard with our own hands. When we are reviled and verbally abused, we bless. When we are persecuted, we take it patiently and endure. When we are slandered, we try to be conciliatory and answer softly. We have become like the scum of the world, the dregs of all things, even until now.

Paul is portraying the arduous life of struggle that comes with becoming an apostle for Christ. Not only are they considered stupid and have no respect in the eyes of the public, but they also live with hunger, thirst, filthy clothing, beatings, and no place to call home.

Now Paul adds that it is even important for them to pay for themselves by performing additional physical labor jobs on the side. The Corinthians would recall Paul working as a tentmaker with his own hands when he was with them. That’s when he met and collaborated with Priscilla and Aquila in tent-building and the ministry of drawing people to Christ.

  1. Revelation 2:2-3

I know your deeds, your hard work and your perseverance. I know that you cannot tolerate wicked people, that you have tested those who claim to be apostles but are not, and have found them false. You have persevered and have endured hardships for my name, and have not grown weary. Revelation 2:2-3
  2.  Deuteronomy 24:19 (ESV)

When you reap your harvest in your field and forget a sheaf in the field, you shall not go back to get it. It shall be for the sojourner, the fatherless, and the widow, that the Lord your God may bless you in all the work of your hands.

What does the Bible say about laziness?

The Bible says that lazy hands make for poverty, but diligent hands bring wealth. Proverbs 10:4. The Bible does not encourage anyone to be lazy because the end of it is painful and regretful.

There are several scriptures in the Bible that urge us to work hard, so we can live a better life and do what is expected of us at the right. A lazy man cannot serve God well because it takes those who are hard-working and diligent to carry out the instructions of God.

God is hard-working, so he expects us as his children to do the same. Laziness is not the nature of God.

Motivational Bible verse to help you work hard

14. Colossians 3:23 (NIV)

 15.  Ephesians 2:8-10 (NIV)

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of Godnot by works so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

 16. Ecclesiastes 5:12 (NLT)

People who work hard sleep well, whether they eat little or much. But the rich seldom get a good night’s sleep.
