It’s easy to feel like you’re not enough. Like there’s no way you can get through the hard times, or even find the motivation to try. But here’s what I want you to know: You are enough. And you can get through this. It may seem like a stretch, but I promise it’s not impossible!

If you look at the Bible, you’ll see that God has been there with us through all kinds of hard times—and he still is today. And just like he did with the Israelites in the book of Deuteronomy, he gives us instructions on how we can make it through our own hardships. So let’s dig into these verses together and see what they have to teach us about how we can push through and make it through our own hard times!

Bible Verses About Pushing Through Hard Times

Introduction

It seems like everywhere you look, there are a million things going wrong. You can’t keep up with the work piling up at your desk; your kid is getting the flu for the fourth time this winter; and even when you step outside to escape it all, there’s ice on the ground and wintery mix in the air. What’s a person to do? Well, as a person of faith, I know that I can always turn to God during my times of hardship. So here are some helpful Bible verses that helped me through hard times:

Isaiah 40:28-31

God is always with you and He will never leave you (Psalm 23:4). When life gets rough, remember that God is your strength, your refuge, and your rock. In times when all seems lost, rely on Him to provide the courage and strength to push through difficult circumstances.

Lamentations 3:22-23

God is not a good God, nor a merciful God, nor faithful, gracious and so on. He is all of these things. The Bible doesn’t say that he is one or the other; it says he is all of them at once.

God loves you and wants to be with you in whatever situation you find yourself in.

Romans 8:28

“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brothers. Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these he also glorified.” (Romans 8:28-30)

Deuteronomy 31:6

When you are going through hard times, God will be with you. He will never leave you alone. As a matter of fact, he gives us strength to get through hard times by giving us trust in him and not ourselves.

1 Peter 5:10

1 Peter 5:10 Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.

1 Peter 5:11 Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.

1 Peter 5:12 Resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood throughout the world.

1 Peter 5:13 And after you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace who has called you to His eternal glory in Christ will Himself complete and make you what He has called you (emphasis added).

Psalm 46:1

Psalm 46:1 says, “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” God is your refuge and your strength—and he will always be there to hold you up when the going gets tough. It doesn’t matter what life throws at you, He will always protect you from harm and shield you from danger. He is not only a refuge but also an incredibly powerful protector who can fight off all of your enemies with ease!

Philippians 4:13

Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

This is the most important verse in the Bible. It means that you can do anything if you put your mind to it and believe in yourself. If you don’t have faith in yourself, then who will?

2 Corinthians 12:9

“But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me.”

In this verse, Paul tells us that even though we experience hard times and difficult situations, God’s grace (or divine love) and his Spirit are sufficient for us. We don’t need to worry about anything because God has already given us everything we need to overcome our problems!

Romans 6:4

Romans 6:4 is a great Bible verse for those who are struggling with a particular sin. The passage reads, “We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, that like as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.”

bible verses stressful times

When you’re going through a hard time, it can seem like you’ll never get through. But God has a plan for you!

Psalm 23:4 | “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.”

Psalm 27:13 | “I believe that I shall see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.”

Romans 8:18-19 | “For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.”

In this verse, Paul says that we should follow Jesus’ example and be baptized after our sins are forgiven. Baptism symbolizes dying to your old ways and being resurrected into new life through God’s love. When you think about it like this, it becomes clear why Paul tells us that baptism will help us get through hard times: because God’s love is stronger than anything else!

James 1:12

James 1:12 says, “Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life…”

You’ll never know how strong you are until strong gets tested.

James 1:6 says that God has given us all things that pertain to life and godliness.

God shows His love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us (Romans 5:8).

bible verses for strength and courage

When you’re facing a difficult time, it’s not easy to see the light at the end of the tunnel. But there is hope for the future!

The Bible has many passages about pushing through hard times. Here are a few:

1 Corinthians 10:13 – For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ.

1 Peter 5:10 – and after you have suffered for a little while, God will restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.

Psalm 37:17 – Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; do not fret when people succeed in their ways.
