I want to talk about spiritual sickness today.
I know that sounds like a heavy topic, but I want to talk about it because I believe that many of us are suffering from spiritual sickness and don’t even realize it.
If you’re not familiar with the term, spiritual sickness is essentially a lack of self-love and self-care—a lack of understanding who you are as an individual and what your authentic purpose is. You might have heard the phrase “you are what you eat,” but I think it’s more accurate to say “you are what you think.” If we’re constantly thinking negative thoughts and focusing on our shortcomings, then those thoughts will take root in our minds and become part of our identity. That’s why it’s so important that we focus on loving ourselves!
When I was going through my divorce last year, I started feeling really down on myself because I felt like my life had fallen apart. But after some time away from work and taking care of myself—through meditation, exercise, and healthy eating habits—I realized how beautiful my life actually is!
