The Bible contains many lists of spiritual gifts. For example, Paul wrote to the Romans that “the Spirit distributes them, each as he wishes” (Romans 12:6). He also wrote that “the manifestation of the Spirit is given to everyone for the common good” (1 Corinthians 12:7). In fact, there are four separate lists in 1 Corinthians alone!

The list of spiritual gifts given by the Holy Spirit to Christians is as follows: apostles, prophets, teachers, healers, helps, administrations and various kinds of tongues (1 Cor 12:28). The last phrase “various kinds of tongues” can refer to several things today – speaking in an unknown language or dialect; ecstatic speech; glossalalia (talking in tongues). In 1 Corinthians the Greek word glossa means “language” so it could also mean that there were different kinds of languages spoken by those who had the gift of tongues. The word for “tongue” here is glōssa which means a language as opposed to lánguage which refers generally to any instrument used for communication e.g., lip reading versus sign language versus American Sign Language (ASL) – these are all different types/forms/functions of linguistics but they all fall under the umbrella term “language” because they are all ways humans use sound waves through their vocal tract organs like lips and tongue etcetera so technically speaking one could argue that there are no such thing as “different kinds”/”types”/”forms” of language because they all share similar properties like syntax rules; phonetics rules…etcetera

The Greek word for “gifts” is charisma, which means a special grace given by God for His service. The word also carries with it the idea of supernatural power, which makes sense since these are spiritual gifts from God to His people.
The purpose of spiritual gifts is twofold: to build up the body of Christ (the church), and to serve others outside of your immediate community or city. Spiritual gifts have always been important in both contexts but have especially taken on increased significance as our world has become increasingly globalized over time. Regardless of whether you live in a rural area or a bustling metropolis, there are people who need help all around us—and we can use our unique talents to bring them closer to Jesus Christ through acts of kindness and compassion!

Let’s take a look at an example:
A husband and wife are married for over 30 years, but have never been able to have children together because of infertility issues. They both faithfully prayed about the situation for many years before finally deciding to adopt a baby boy from China. After adopting their son, the couple began attending church services regularly with their new son in tow since he was too young to stay home alone during services. At first this was difficult because he could not sit still or concentrate on anything other than playing with his toys during worship songs or listening attentively during Bible lessons delivered by pastors called out into ministry positions within the church body itself (i.e., board members). However after several months went by without making progress toward changing her child’s behavior patterns during worship services; she started praying again but this time specifically asking God how exactly He wanted them using these two gifts (adopting children into His Kingdom family through adoption as well as serving others through teaching gospel truth).
Conclusion
The spiritual gifts list in the Bible is an important part of our Christian walk. It is a tool God uses to bless us and others through us. We should use it to help build up His Church, edify our brothers and sisters in Christ, and share the gospel of Jesus Christ with unbelievers. If we neglect these gifts they will be taken away from us; however, if we use them wisely they will bring glory to God and help build up His Kingdom on earth.
