Prayer To Overcome Greed

Today we continue our series on overcoming greed with a prayer. There are many ways to overcome greed, but ask yourself, what are the ways you can exploit greed in your own life? What do you need in your life that is just not enough for you? O Almighty and All-Merciful God, the Source of all goodness and love: teach us to share our blessings with others, to be generous with our resources and to be concerned for those who are less fortunate than we are. Help us to remember that we are our brother’s keeper. We ask this through Christ Our Lord. Amen Guarding against the spirit of greed and desire for material possessions is a key factor for success in this existence. This ritual will help you overcome any immoral or negative desires within you, to ultimately achieve better spiritual development through your life.

There are many reasons why people become greedy and only a few are more important than the others. People can be greedy for wealth, money and even power. Sometimes people use greed for gain but some do it for fun or even for the love of money? Greed to some is an on going battle that once controlled gets out of control and to others, it is not a big deal. All of us at times have a tendency to feel greedy. There is nothing wrong with wanting more and more material possessions, until we allow greed to take over our heart. Greed can be something that causes constant inner turmoil. It’s like an addiction that keeps going stronger, and stronger, and stronger, unless we find the root an remove it, before it takes over our hearts, minds and souls as well. We all have elements of greed in us. It can be just as much of a challenge for the rich person to practice generosity as it for the poor person. The definition of greed is to crave something excessively, even without regard for others and their needs. Since greed is a selfish desire, it is often accompanied by a lack of empathy. Greed can be found in consumerism, sexual immorality, lying, fraud, and jealousy just to name a few. I’m sure you can think of many other vices that are related to greed.

One of the problems that people have is greed. Greed can lead to many different problems but not knowing when it is time to stop can lead people down a path of tragedy. The person who never knows when to stop when it comes to their greed can destroy families, themselves and their futures. You can be greedy in a lot of ways – you might think that you deserve more attention and time than others, or you may simply want more money than you need. No matter what form it takes, greed is never leading us down the right track. There’s always going to be someone who has more than you, or deserves more than what they have.

Prayer To Overcome Greed

Greed is a continuous desire for something than needed, especially wealth, power, food or something that is not readily available. Greed can also be said to be a selfish and excessive and uncontrolled longing desire for more of something. According to our anchor scripture in Proverbs 28:25, a greedy man stirs up conflict, and God has warned us against greed according to our anchor scripture in Luke 12:13-15 which says’ we should watch out and be on guard against all kinds of greed. 

Prayers cannot be over emphasized, if there is a need to stop or put an end to a bad attitude one’s life. Therefore, in our article today, we will be listing some prayers to overcome greed.

Although, there are other steps to take to overcome greed asides praying, but prayer is the utmost. Prayer conquers all seen and unforeseen spirits behind bad attitude we may be trying to overcome. 

How To Overcome Greed

1. Surrender your life to Jesus Christ. Jesus is the only one that can help us overcome any attitude we have, that is not of God. To overcome the bad attitude of greed, you must surrender and ask God to take total control of your life.
2. Study the words of God every day, let the word of God guide and lead you. It is the words of God that can stir up the Holy spirit in you to abstain from greed.
3. Stay away from friends or things that may want to entice you with greed or lure you to being greedy.
4. Lastly, everything you do not want in your life must be prayed out. A closed mouth is a closed destiny, greed cannot be taken away from one by human power, you must enforce the spiritual. You must be deliberate about it and pray it out of your life even as you are taking physical steps.

Prayers To Overcome Greed

1. Father I come before You today, just as I am, forgive every of my sin that is making Your face to be far away from me in the name of Jesus.
2. Every problem that creeped into my life as a result of greediness, Lod forgive me and deliver me today completely in the name of Jesus.
3. Every power that want to limit my progress as a result of greed, break by fire in the name of Jesus.
4. You arrow of greed fired into my destiny, vanish by the fire of God in the name of Jesus.
5. Every career greed, over my career, perish by fire in the name of Jesus.
6. Every spiritual greed fired into my finances, die by fire in the name of Jesus.
7. You arrow of covetousness operating in my life, vanish forever from my life in the name of Jesus.
8. Every spirit of self-centeredness that is bringing greed into my life, perish by the fire of God in the name of Jesus.
9. I receive grace to love genuinely and be a giver and not expect anything in return in the name of Jesus.
10. Every power positioning me and luring me to greediness crumble by fire in the name of Jesus.
11. I conquer every giants of greed in my life in the name of Jesus.
12. Every garment of greed upon my life, tear away by fire in the name of Jesus.
13. Lord Jesus I decree in the name of Jesus that You are more than enough for me; therefore, I lay down all my greed attitude at Your feet in the name of Jesus.
14. I break away from every familiar friends introducing me to greed in the name of Jesus.
15. Father, liberate and deliver me from every money greed fired into my life in the name of Jesus.
16. Lord Jesus, help me to find my peace and rest in Your words in the name of Jesus.
17. I bind every yoke of greed laid upon me knowingly or unknowingly in the name of Jesus.
18. I refuse to serve two masters in the name of Jesus; therefore, you spirit of greed in my life, perish by fire in the name of Jesus.
19. I decree in the name of Jesus that as I proceed and progress in my career, greed will not overcome me in the name of Jesus.
20. You spirit of greed that has vowed to destroy my promotion, perish by fire in the name Jesus.
21. Nothing shall be able to separate me from the love of God not even greed in the name of Jesus.
22. I separate myself from every unfriendly friends that may want to introduce me to greed in the name of Jesus.
23. Every power from the pit of hell, that has vowed to sponsor my fall through greed, fail woefully in the name of Jesus.
24. I cover my eyes with the blood of Jesus and fire of the Holy Ghost, I declare I will not see things that will make me fall short of Your glory in the name of Jesus.
25. My legs will not take me to where God’s grace is not in the name of Jesus.
26. I sanctify my hands with the precious blood of the lamb, I will not take what is not meant for me by force in the name of Jesus.
27. Spirit to be contended overshadow my life from now till the end of my life on earth in the name of Jesus.
28. Every power looking for my downfall as a result of greed, fall and fail in the name of Jesus.
29. Father I thank You because you will never leave me nor forsake me in the name of Jesus.
30. Thank You Lord Jesus, for You are a prayer answering God, thank You Lord for answering ,my prayers in the name of Jesus.
