Prayer To Complete A Task
Lord Jesus Christ, my God, You have said, “Apart from me You can do nothing.” In faith I embrace Your words, Lord, and I entreat Your goodness. Help me to carry out the work I am about to begin, and to bring it to completion. To You I give glory, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Amen.
Almighty God, our Help and Refuge, who knows that we can do nothing right without Your guidance and help; direct me by Your wisdom and power, that I may accomplish this task and, whatever I do according to Your divine will, so that it may be beneficial to me and others and to the glory of Your holy Name. Amen.
My Lord and Savior, You became man and labored with Your hands until the time of Your ministry. Bless me as I begin this work. Help me to bring it to completion. Lord, enlighten my mind and strengthen my body, that I may accomplish my task according to Your will. Guide me to bring about works of goodness to Your service and glory. Amen.
Prayer After Any Task
Thank You, Lord, for Your strength and guidance in my work. You are the fulfillment of all good things. Fill also my soul with joy and gladness, that I may praise You always. Amen.
Prayer for Workplace Protection
Almighty God, thank Thee for the job of this day.
May we find gladness in all its toil and difficulty,
its pleasure and success, and even in its failure and sorrow.
We would look always away from ourselves,
and behold the glory and the need of the world
that we may have the will and the strength to bring
the gift of gladness to others; that with them we stand to bear
the burden and heat of the day and offer Thee the praise of work well done.
Amen.

The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven,
Hallowed be thy Name.
Thy kingdom come.
Thy will be done,
On earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
and the power,
and the glory,
for ever and ever.
Amen.
—Book of Common Prayer (1928)
A Prayer for Successful Work
Almighty God, whose hands hold all matters of life, give me grace of success in the work that I do. Help me to give it the careful thought and the strict attention that will lead to success.
Watch over me and govern my actions, that I may not mar its perfection.
Show me how to give my best, and let me not despise the toil that is necessary to complete it. Make my life a successful one, in that every duty you give to me, I do it well.
Give me the blessing of your help and guidance, and suffer me not to fail.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
Scriptures to Use in Your Prayers for Work
Let the favor of the Lord our God be on us; establish for us the work of our hands— establish the work of our hands!
(Psalm 90:17, CSB)
Whatever your hands find to do, do with all your strength.
(Ecclesiastes 9:10)
Whatever you do, do it from the heart, as something done for the Lord and not for people.
(Colossians 3:23)
Let each person examine his own work, and then he can take pride in himself alone, and not compare himself with someone else. For each person will have to carry his own load.
(Galatians 6:4–5)
Short prayer for work success
A quick glance at the clock told me I had been reworking the same tiny detail on my project for hours. Sigh… It wasn’t going well. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t get my creative juices flowing. I was tired, frustrated, and unsure what to do about it.
I needed help.
I needed strength.
I needed direction.
I needed Jesus!
It was time to step away and wholeheartedly seek the Lord. So I got up, grabbed my bible, and retreated to a quiet place to pray. Sure enough, as I poured out my frustrations to the Lord, the stress began to fade away.
Are you struggling to get things done? Maybe you’ve been consistently working on a project for a while, and it still isn’t coming together, or it could be that you’re a mom who’s frustrated by the unending amount of laundry that needs washing. (It’s amazing how the pile never gets any smaller, isn’t it?) Whatever it may be that’s stressing you, you can count on God to give you what you need to get the job done. All you have to do is ask.

A prayer strategy for when you are overwhelmed and frustrated by the task before you.
Three things to pray when you’re struggling to complete a task:
Pray For Restoration
We all need a break sometimes. Even Jesus retreated to a quiet place regularly so he could rest in the presence of the Father (Luke 5:16). When we are weary and burdened, we can seek the Lord and ask him to replenish and restore us (Matthew 11:28).
Pray For Strength
We don’t have to completely rely on our own power to keep going. God’s word tells us He will not grow tired or weary and that it is He who gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak (Isaiah 40:28-29). We can ask God to lavish His unending supply of strength on us to help keep us going.
Pray For Guidance
If we’re uncertain or confused, we should ask God for clarity. James 1:5 reminds us that the Lord gives wisdom to those who ask for it. When we seek God for guidance, He will show us the way and guide our steps.
When we get overwhelmed by the pressures of trying to complete our tasks, let’s remember to seek God and ask him to restore us, strengthen us, and guide us.
When we seek God and ask him to restore us, strengthen us and guide us He will supply us with what we need. –Tweet this!
Let’s Pray:
“Lord, we praise you for your wisdom, power, and strength; there is none like it in all the world. Thank you for supplying us with what we need to complete our projects and tasks. Please help us to remember to seek you for guidance, strength, and restoration when we get tired and frustrated. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen!”
Thank you for following along today. Today’s verse reminds us that prayer is powerful. When we pray, God really does hear us! I hope you were encouraged to take a step back and seek the Lord when you’re struggling to get the job done. ~Kelly
