Prayer To Break The Covenants With Death And Sheol

The Ancient Hebrews were the first to engage in organized worship. The practice of worship or praying is as old as human culture. In the Hebrew times, prayer took on several forms. One was a sincere appeal to God neither asking for anything nor expecting anything in return. Most Jews are familiar with the prayer recited by the Cantor after kabbalat shabbat.  The words ‘who breaks the power of death and slays the angel of death’ are not listed in the siddur on a regular basis (except for Yom Kippur).   While seemingly simple, these two sentences raise interesting questions that have been debated by rabbis throughout history.

Breaking Evil Covenant with Scriptures

Evil covenants are agreements made with dark forces that bind individuals to negative spiritual consequences. Breaking free from these covenants is crucial for spiritual freedom and growth. The Bible provides us with powerful verses that can help us break evil covenants and walk in the light of God.\

Text: Isaiah 28:16-19

Therefore thus says the Lord GOD:
“ Behold, I lay in Zion a stone for a foundation,
A tried stone, a precious cornerstone, a sure foundation;
Whoever believes will not act hastily.
Also I will make justice the measuring line,
And righteousness the plummet;
The hail will sweep away the refuge of lies,
And the waters will overflow the hiding place.
Your covenant with death will be annulled,
And your agreement with Sheol will not stand;
When the overflowing scourge passes through,
Then you will be trampled down by it.
As often as it goes out it will take you;
For morning by morning it will pass over,
And by day and by night;
It will be a terror just to understand the report.”

Here are 12 Bible verses to help break evil covenants:

    prayers to break dream covenants

    A covenant is an agreement we make with someone else. Whenever we have an agreement within ourselves to disobey God in a certain area of our lives, we have made a covenant with death that needs to be broken. Death in this context is speaking about something that separates us from God. Let’s see what Scripture says about breaking a covenant with death.

    Text: Isaiah 28:16-19

    Therefore thus says the Lord GOD:
    “ Behold, I lay in Zion a stone for a foundation,
    A tried stone, a precious cornerstone, a sure foundation;
    Whoever believes will not act hastily.
    Also I will make justice the measuring line,
    And righteousness the plummet;
    The hail will sweep away the refuge of lies,
    And the waters will overflow the hiding place.
    Your covenant with death will be annulled,
    And your agreement with Sheol will not stand;
    When the overflowing scourge passes through,
    Then you will be trampled down by it.
    As often as it goes out it will take you;

    And by day and by night;
    It will be a terror just to understand the report.”

    I. The sure foundation is prophetically speaking about Christ (1 Peter 2:4-6 shows this verse in Isaiah 28:16 is referring to Christ)

    • He is the only sure foundation that we have in our lives.
    • The one who trusts in Christ will not be put to shame.

    II. Justice and righteousness are the standards God established in Christ (Isaiah 28:17)

    • We receive our righteousness by faith from Him at the moment of salvation.
    • From that point on, God begins to work experiential righteousness in every area of our lives.

    III. God exposes our false refuges and hiding places (Isaiah 28:17)

    • Anything we run to (instead of God) is a false hiding place God wants to rip away.
    • Hail and water in this passage are metaphors that stand for difficult circumstances that God sends our way to demonstrate that what we are trusting in is not good enough to hold us up.
    • For example, Michael Jackson was a study of a person trying to run from his pain with medications, performances, celebrity, and relationships with young children. But he could never get away from the internal pain that was eating away at him.

    IV. God’s goal: To get us to break our covenants with death (Isaiah 28:18)

    • He allows the circumstances of life to beat us down until we finally break these internal agreements (read also Isaiah 29:3-4).
    • His goal for us in these situations is for us to rest in Him instead of finding different ways to run from Him to something else (Isaiah 30:15-16).

    what does the bible say about breaking covenant

    Isaiah 49:24 Shall the prey be taken from the mighty, or the lawful captive delivered? 49:25 But thus saith the LORD, Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible shall be delivered: for I will contend with him that contendeth with thee, and I will save thy children. 49:26 And I will feed them that oppress thee with their own flesh; and they shall be drunken with their own blood, as with sweet wine: and all flesh shall know that I the LORD am thy Saviour and thy Redeemer, the mighty One of Jacob.

    Sermon on Breaking Family Covenants

    A sermon on breaking family covenant, delivered at the First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, October 12, 1912.

    The subject of today’s discourse is “Breaking Family Covenants.” I trust that the thought suggested by this subject will bring to your mind something more than a mere repetition of words; for if it does not do so you will find little comfort in the message which I shall endeavor to bring to you.

    The first thing that strikes me as being worthy of consideration is that we are here together as members of one family — Christian Science — and that our privilege is one which we cannot share with any other people or with any other church. It is in this church that we have learned how much good can be accomplished when people come together in unity and harmony and put forth their united efforts toward establishing right conditions in human affairs.

    Christian Science brings us together as members of one family; but it also brings us together as individual families who are striving to make our homes what they should be — homes where children are loved and cherished instead of being neglected or abused; homes where parents respect each other for what they believe themselves

    Breaking Demonic Covenants: A Biblical Guide to Freedom

    In this teaching, I am going to share with you the importance of breaking demonic covenants. This is a subject that has been on my heart for a while now, and I believe it is time for us as believers to be able to identify and break demonic covenants in our lives.

    The word covenant means “a promise or agreement” (1). There are two different types of covenants; natural and supernatural. A natural covenant is an agreement between two people or parties where they agree to do something together (2). A supernatural covenant is an agreement between God and man where God promises something in return for man’s obedience (3).

    There are many other types of covenants that are not mentioned here but these three will suffice for our purposes today. In order for us to understand how we can break demonic covenants in our lives we must first understand what makes up a covenant. The following diagram illustrates how we can break demonic covenants:

    When you break a covenant, you’re breaking a relationship. A covenant is a pact or agreement made between two parties. It’s an unwritten contract and a holy bond that must be honored.

    When we make covenants with God, we are making promises to Him. We are saying that we will do certain things in return for His blessings on our lives. When we make covenants with other people, we are promising them something as well.

    When we make a covenant with God, it’s called an oath. When we break an oath, it’s called perjury or violating our word. When someone places his hand on the Bible and swears to tell the truth in court, he is taking an oath to tell only the truth and nothing but the truth — even if he knows it will hurt him or someone else (Exodus 20:16). This is one of many examples in which people make vows or promises before God.

    Breaking Your Word Is Breaking Your Covenants

    The Bible tells us that when you take an oath before God, you must not break your word (Numbers 30:2). If you do, it’s like breaking a promise to your family or friends and dishonoring them in front of others. Think about how embarrassing

    Prayer is the key to all round freedom from ancestral covenants. If you are born again, you are no longer under the Old covenant, or any demonic covenant, you are now a new creation, born under a new covenant, sealed by the blood of Jesus. No devil has the right to oppress you or roll you under any evil covenant. You must declare you stand in prayers, because the devil is a stubborn spirit, he will not let you go until you force him out of your life. You must resist the devil through the word of God and dangerous prayer points.
