St Marina healing oil
The St Marina healing oil is dedicated to the patron saint for kidney illnesses, sometimes known as St. Marina the monk. Today, we discuss the Prayer To St Marina For Kidneys, how to heal kidneys spiritually and the Saint Benedict prayer for kidney disease.
Marina, born Mariam, was the daughter of wealthy Christian parents. Since Marina’s mother passed away when she was a young child, her father Eugenius raised Marina in a devout Christian way. As Marina’s age of marriage drew near, Marina’s father wished to retire to the Monastery of Qannoubine in Lebanon after he had found his child a husband.
Marina’s determination
When Marina learned of her father’s plan, she asked why her father intended to save his own soul “and destroy mine.” When asked by her father, “What shall I do with you? You are a woman, Marina answered, saying that she would renounce women’s clothing and live as a monk. She then immediately shaved the hair from her head and changed her clothes. Her father, seeing his child’s strong determination, gave all his possessions to the poor and traveled with Marina to the Kadisha Valley to live in monastic community life, sharing a cell with her under the name Marinos.

Prayer for Kidney Healing
During the third century AD, Saint Marina, also called Saint Margarita, was a Christian martyr. In the Eastern Orthodox Church, she is honoured as a saint, and her feast day is July 17. Saint Marina was persecuted and faced great difficulties, but she never wavered in her faith and became an example to many other believers.
Saint Marina’s Early Years
Saint Marina was raised in a pious Christian household and was born in Pisidian Antioch, which is now in Turkey, in the late third century. Her parents taught her the value of faith and the teachings of Christ from a young age. Marina was well-known for her steadfast commitment to leading a moral life and her intense devotion to God.
Change of Faith to Christianity
As Saint Marina grew older, suitors became interested in her because of her beauty and qualities. She did, however, swear to remain chaste and to devote her entire life to serving God. Marina protested and declared her intention to live a celibate life when her father forced her into a marriage against her will.
Marina persisted in her choice to live as a solitary ascetic in a small hut outside of the city in spite of the disapproval of her family. She completely devoted herself to worshipping God throughout this time, strengthening her bond with Him. Many Christians in the area respected her because of her devotion and unshakable faith.
Martyrology
Under the Roman Emperor Diocletian, Christians faced severe persecution throughout Marina’s lifetime. Marina eventually became a victim of this harassment. She was tortured and endured numerous sorts of agony because she refused to give up her religion. Marina refused to back down from her ideals, even if it was causing her unbearable agony.

I want to thank You today for all of Your support and comfort, as I continue to battle with my kidneys’ health. I ask that You strengthen Your will and restore my kidneys.
Aid in the proper functioning of my kidneys. Tell me if I should seek out other therapies. If I should, kindly direct my thoughts to such therapies and the appropriate medical professionals to carry them out.
I ask that You use Your heavenly might to restore the appropriate function of my kidneys. I ask that You give me new strength as I recover so that I can continue to accomplish good deeds.
I am grateful for Your support and direction in my life. I am incredibly appreciative of the strength You provide me every day.
In the name of my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, I finish this prayer.
Indeed.
Prayer To St Marina For Kidneys
The Prayer of Saint Marina before her Martyrdom: O Beginningless, Immortal, Timeless, Incomprehensible and Unimaginable Lord, the God of all and Creator of all creation, the Foreseer and Saviour of all, as I have hoped in You, I thank You, that You have brought me to this hour, as I approach the Crown of Your righteousness. I hymn and bless Your uncountable compassion and philanthropy, as You desired to number me with Your chosen servants. Look down, now, upon me the lowly one, O God and Master, Lord of Mercy, Ruler of All and All-Powerful One, hearken to my Prayer, and fulfill my entreaties in praise. To the Honour and Glory of Your All-Holy and Worshipped Name, grant remission of sins for all those who desire to build a Church in the name of Your servant, or who serve in them with Prayer, or who write of the struggle of my Martyrdom, and to those who read it with faith, remembering the name of Your servant, and make them bear fruit through Your power.
I ask that those who embrace this dwelling place of my body, where I suffered martyrdom for Your love, grant forgiveness of sins according to the measure of their faith, and do not let any hand of damnation approach them, nor hunger, nor plague, nor any other danger of soul or body. And all those who desire to celebrate, glorifying with faith and seeking Your Salvation and mercy through me, grant to them Your good things in this world, and to go forth pleasing You, and make them worthy of Your Heavenly Kingdom, for You are the only Good One and Lover-of-man, and the Giver of Good things, unto the ages. Amen.
How To Heal Kidneys Spiritually
After ten years of prayer, fasting and worship together, Marina’s father died, leaving her alone. Marina increased her level of asceticism and continued to conceal the fact that she was a woman. The other monks attributed her soft voice to long periods of prayer and a strict ascetic life.
Marina sent on a mission
One day, the abbot of the monastery sent her with three other monks to attend to some business for the monastery. As the journey was long, they were forced to spend the night at an inn. Also lodging there was a soldier of the eastern Roman front. Upon seeing the beauty of the innkeeper’s daughter, the soldier seduced her and defiled her virginity, instructing her to say, “It was the monk, Father Marinos, who has done this to me,” should she conceive a child.
After some time, it was discovered that the innkeeper’s daughter was pregnant and, as was agreed, she told her father that Marina was to blame. On hearing the story, the man went furiously to the abbot of the monastery. The abbot calmed the man and told him that he would see to the matter. He called for Marina and reprimanded her severely. When Marina realized what was happening, she fell to her knees and wept, confessing her sinfulness (without explicitly stating how she had sinned) and asking forgiveness.
Marina is expelled
The fact that there was no attempt to deny the fault made the abbot so furious that he told Marina to leave the monastery. She left at once and remained outside the gates as a beggar for quite a long time. When the innkeeper’s daughter gave birth, he took the child and gave it to Marina. For ten years, she cared for the child outside of the monastery and fed him with sheep’s milk that the neighborhood shepherds provided. Finally, the monks convinced the abbot to allow Marina to return; he accepted but he also imposed heavy penalties on Marina. She was to perform hard labour in cooking, cleaning and carrying water in addition to her regular monastic duties.
At the age of forty, Marina became ill. Three days later, she died. The abbot ordered that Marina’s body be cleaned, her clothes changed and that she be transferred to the church for funeral prayers. While fulfilling these tasks, the monks discovered that she was, in fact, a woman. This made them very distressed. The monks informed the abbot, who came to Marina’s side and wept bitterly for the wrongs done. The abbot then called for the innkeeper and informed him that Marina was actually born a woman. The innkeeper went to where the body lay and also wept for the pain and suffering that he had unjustly brought upon Marina.
Saint Benedict Prayer For Kidney Disease
Dear St Marina,
I pray for you in this moment of need. I am a woman who has suffered from kidney disease for many years. I have been told by my doctors that there is nothing more they can do for me and that my kidneys will continue to deteriorate until my death. But I know that life does not end at death—it only changes form. And so I ask for your intercession on my behalf: Please help my kidneys heal! Let them be able to function again as they once did, so that I may live a full life and serve others in the best way possible.
May this be so, through Christ our Lord. Amen
First miracle
During the funeral prayers, one of the monks, who was blind in one eye, received full sight again after he touched the body. God also allowed a devil to torment the innkeeper’s daughter and the soldier. This caused them to travel to where the saint was buried. There, they both confessed their iniquity in front of everyone and asked for forgiveness. Today, Coptic Orthodox say that Marina’s body is kept at St. Mary Church and has not decomposed. It is displayed to the public on Marina’s feast day, on Mesra 15
Tradition of oils/St Marina healing oil
The tradition of anointing with sacred oil is very old indeed. It is used in sacraments and also as a devotional practice. The sick person applies the oil and blesses themselves. As they do so, they are asked to pray to whoever the oil is dedicated to. The Irish blessing oils do not have miraculous power. It is God who has the power to heal. Applying the oil while praying is an important way for us to express our faith in God’s power. Moreover, by doing so we place our trust in God.
The Irish Blessings oils are dedicated to the Holy Spirit, Our Lady and the saints. The oils come through prayer. They are placed on their designated altars for a period of prayer before being sent out. The oils are of therapeutic grade.
The bottles of oils going out are accompanied by a prayer card. In addition, they are personalised for the saint to whom the oil is dedicated.
