Church anniversary Poems

Dear Lord, we pray to you today on the occasion of our church’s anniversary. Thank you for this space in which we gather and worship, and for the people who are part of it.

We ask that you would continue to bless our congregation with health and prosperity, that we may continue to grow in faith and love. We ask that you would be with all those who have left us recently, especially including those who have passed away this year.

And finally, dear Lord: we ask that you would guide us on the path toward justice and righteousness in this world. May we strive always to do your will; may we remember our Savior in everything we do; may justice reign! Amen!

Dear Lord, we come before you today to celebrate the anniversary of our church. We thank you for bringing us together as a community, and for helping us to grow in faith and love. We ask that you continue to bless our church, and bring people into it who will be open to your message. As we pray this prayer, please guide us in all that we do, so that we may always serve you well. Amen

Dear Lord, we gather today to celebrate the anniversary of this church. We thank you for your constant guidance and inspiration. Please continue to guide us as we move forward in our mission.

Help us to remember that the church is not about us, but rather it is about you. Help us to stay focused on what matters most: spreading your word and serving others through your wisdom.

Please help us to be mindful of our responsibilities as leaders and teachers of your word, so that we may lead others on a path towards salvation.

And finally, please help us to always remember that it is only through your grace and mercy that anyone can be saved from their sins. We ask this in Jesus’ name, amen!

Dear God,

We thank you for the gift of this church, which we have come to love so much. We thank you for the opportunity to worship with our friends and family in such a beautiful space, and for the way that these walls have sheltered us from the storms of life. We know that this building is just a symbol of your love for us, but it’s a powerful symbol: it’s made up of stone and mortar and wood, but it’s also made up of people—people like us who came together to build something lasting and beautiful.

We ask that you would bless this congregation as we seek to carry out your will through our service to one another. Grant us strength when we need it most; grant us forgiveness when we don’t deserve it; grant us peace when there seems little hope. And grant us joy in knowing that together we are building something that will last forever.

Dear Lord,

We thank you for the opportunity to come together as a family today. We ask that you bless this church with the strength and wisdom to continue its mission of spreading the love of Christ to all people. We pray that you strengthen us in our faith, so that we may be able to spread this message throughout the world, and help others find peace and happiness in your presence.

In Jesus’ name, amen

Dear God,

Thank you so much for the opportunity to gather together with our fellow parishioners to worship and celebrate. We know that it can be hard to get up early on a Sunday morning, but we also know that the benefits of being here are worth it.

We are grateful to have been given this chance to reflect on what we have done in the past year and how we should move forward in the future. We ask that you guide us as we make decisions about how to best use your resources for the glory of your kingdom, and help us remember that everything we do is for your glory alone.

We pray that our church will continue to grow and thrive in the coming year, so that we may continue to be a source of joy and strength for those around us who need it most. Amen

Dear God,

Thank you for the gift of this church. Thank you for the people who have come together to serve it, and for those who have given their lives in service here. We are grateful for all that you have done, and we ask that your presence continue to guide us as we move forward in our mission. We pray for those who are experiencing hardship or loss at this time; we pray that they will find comfort and peace through Your love. We pray for our leaders today, who are working hard to make a difference in this world; we pray that their efforts will bring glory to You.

We thank You for the many blessings we’ve received at this church, and we ask that You continue to bless our members with new opportunities to serve and grow as individuals in their faith. Bless us all with health and happiness as we enter into a new year together! In Jesus’ name, Amen

5 Loving Prayers for Your Anniversary

What Does the Bible Tell Us about Love and Marriage?

One of my favorite places in the Bible that talks about marriage is in Ephesians 5. In the first part of the chapter, Paul tells the Ephesians to, “walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God” (Vs.2). Out of his sacrificial love for us, Jesus gave up his life. We will not find a better example of love than this.

Toward the end of this chapter, Paul goes on to talk about what a marriage should look like. Both the husband and wife have roles in the relationship. When put together, they should be a picture of what Christ did for the church. “For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh” (Ephesians 5:31). What a beautiful purpose for our marriages, to reflect the love of Jesus to the world. It is not a selfish kind of love, but a love that is sacrificial, and thinks of another’s best interests. Our marriages have a higher calling than what is portrayed in movies. We aren’t married to satisfy selfish desires. We are committed to each other. We are to love each other like Christ loved the church, and we are to serve each other in this relationship. When this is lived out, both people in the marriage benefit. We also begin to become more like Jesus in the process.

5 Loving Anniversary Prayers

1. A Prayer That Our Marriage Would Stay Focused on Jesus

Father, thank you that you did not leave us alone to figure this marriage thing out. You promised that you would always be with us. Please help us as a couple to keep our eyes fixed on you. Help us learn to walk with you and grow closer to you so everything that we do flows from our relationship with you. Help us bring you into everything in our relationship, so we don’t rely on our own human strength or understanding. We lay down our pride before you and our selfish desires. Help others see you in our marriage. Amen.

2. An Anniversary Prayer for Our Marriage to Be StrengthenedLord, thank you for the gift that our marriage is. I pray each year that it would be stronger. When we are weak, would you help us both to run to you Lord, to get our strength to make our marriage work. Especially in this world, give us what we need to have a long-lasting marriage. Help us both to say no to our pride when we need to work on something. You are greater than anything that would try to tear us apart. Help us to rely on you to make our marriage better. Amen.

3. A Prayer that We Would Always Choose to Love Each Other

Father, thank you that you are our example of what love looks like. We can get so confused when we rely on feelings only. Help us to make the choice to love, even when we don’t feel like it. When it is hard to love, help us remember the reasons that we got married in the first place. Give us the energy to love on days when it gets hard. Thank you for loving us Lord, so we can do the same because of you. Amen.

4. A Prayer that We Would Choose Forgiveness

Lord, thank you for the gift you have given us in your forgiveness. Help us in our marriage to assume the same attitude that you have toward us. When we are hurting, help us to come to you first. Give us the strength to forgive each other. Would you protect us from becoming bitter toward each other, and keep our hearts moldable and soft? Help our marriage to be a light to others, so they can see you through it. Amen.

5. An Anniversary Prayer for Intimacy in Our Marriage

Father, thank you for your plan for marriage. Thank you for my spouse, and the close relationship that we have. Would you help us grow in intimacy with each other, physically, emotionally, and spiritually? Help us see what a gift intimacy is, and the plan that you had for it. Help us both heal from anything from our pasts that might be getting in the way of becoming closer to each other. Give us a healthy perspective on intimacy; thank you for giving us a glimpse into what your perfect relationship looks like with the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Amen.

4 Ways to Show Your Significant Other Love on Your Anniversary

1. Write encouraging notes to your spouse leading up to your anniversary, and place one each day in a place where they will find it during their normal routine.

2. Surprise your spouse with a date night, and take care of all the necessary details, so they don’t have to plan anything.

3. Get a bunch of their favorite treats or drinks and make a gift basket to give them to enjoy.

4. On your anniversary, make a bucket list of things you want to do together. Try to complete the list before your next anniversary comes around.

What a wonderful joy it can be when our anniversary happens each year. Not only can we celebrate all that has happened, but it can give us a starting point for how to make our marriages better in the years to come. We don’t have to sit and do nothing; we can put in the effort to make our marriages really thrive for as long as we are on this earth. The Lord has given us this gift called marriage. I pray that we each would have the strength to make our relationships better, so we can ultimately show the world Jesus through our marriages.

Prayers for Anniversaries

Anniversary Prayer Of Thanksgiving

Heavenly Father, we praise and thank You for the privilege and gift of marriage and for the joy that comes from sharing our life together. We thank You Father, for bringing us to this anniversary day, where we remember the vows that we made before you, and pray that You would continue to bless our life together.

Lord, we pray that Your love would increasingly shine through our marriage so that as we draw ever closer in our vertical relationship to You, it may be reflected in our fellowship with each other and shine out to those beyond our home and family.

Lord, You have done great things for us and we praise and thank You for bringing us together and for being our strength and stay when times of difficulty arose. We pray that in the days that lie ahead, we may be used by You as a witness to the wonderful work you have done in our lives and may we be used to encourage others who are setting out on the beautiful adventure of marriage.

Continue to bless our lives together and may we grow ever closer to You and to each other in the days that lie ahead. In Jesus’ name we pray,

Amen.

Anniversary Prayer To Grow Love And Unity

Heavenly Father, thank You that You have brought us together as man and wife, and thank You that we are celebrating yet another wedding anniversary, for which we praise and magnify Your holy name.

Thank You for the guidance that we have received through Your Word, and Lord, we pray that day by day You would develop in both our hearts an increasing desire to put on love, knowing that this is the perfect bond of unity and peace, when founded on the Lord Jesus Christ, our Rock and Foundation. May we both grow in grace and in a knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ as together we walk in spirit and truth, and may our life become a shining example, where Christ remains the centre and circumference of our marriage.

Give us wisdom we pray, as we face the forthcoming year, and grant us to grow in love and unity one with one another and with You, so that we may be a demonstration of Your grace and mercy towards us. May our love for You and our faith in You bring glory to Your name. In Jesus’ name we pray,

Anniversary Prayer When Things Are Strained

Dear Lord Jesus, I just want to lift up my heart to you today as this is our anniversary, and yet Lord, recently things between us have become strained and difficult and I feel sad and confused and quite alone.

Lord, I don’t know where things went wrong and I don’t know how I could have done things differently, but Lord I am sorry for the part that I have played. I know that in many ways I have been selfish and wanted things my way, when Your Word says that we should do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility consider the other person as more significant than ourselves.

Lord, I ask Your forgiveness and pray that You would help me to start to live a life that is honouring to You. Heal my marriage I pray, and show me Lord, how I can bridge the gap that is widening between us. Teach me Your ways, lead me on a straight path and graciously teach me How to live as unto the Lord. In Jesus’ name I pray,

Amen.

Church Anniversary Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You that we are celebrating this church anniversary. We thank You that we are all One in Christ, and we pray that as members of Your body, Your Holy Spirit would knit us together in the bonds of unity and love.

Lord, You have promised that You are the One that would build Your Church and we ask that You would continue to equip each of us, both individually and corporately with the talents and gifts that may be used to Your praise and glory for the edification of the rest of the saints of God.

Protect us from the wiles of the enemy who seeks to destroy and cause divisions among Your body. Help us to be sober-minded, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable and gentle one towards each other. Let us not be motivated by selfishness but in humility may we seek to regard the needs and necessities of others before our own.

Give wisdom to the elders and deacons and give wisdom to those that teach and a teachable spirit to those that listen. And may the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of the Father and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with us all this day and for ever. In Jesus’ name we pray,

Amen.

Thank You, for the testimony of love and faithfulness that shines forth from their union, and we pray that You will bless and honour their life together in the days and years that lie ahead.

We pray that with the passing years, their love for each other and for You may grow and develop. We ask that You bless them with many more such wedding anniversaries, and pray that as year succeeds to year, they grow in grace and in love for each other and for You. Bless their home we pray, and ask that You would uphold them with Your mighty right hand. In Jesus’ name,

Amen.

For Those Celebrating Their Anniversary

Heavenly Father, we thank and praise You for the gift of marriage and the love and joy that it brings to so many couples. Pour out we pray, Your love, joy, grace and peace into the hearts of all who are celebrating their wedding anniversary today. We pray that as they join together to celebrate this joyous occasion that You would draw them ever closer to each other and to You.

We pray that you will continue to bless and to keep them and that You would become increasingly more precious to them day by day, for only in You is the fullness of joy for evermore. Continue we pray, to be their source and supply and their ever present help in times of need. May their home be a place of peace, where You are kept as the central focus of their lives, and grant them many more years of joy and happiness together. In Jesus’ name,

Amen.

We bless and thank You for Your many blessings to us, and pray that we would remain united in love and faith. In Jesus’ name we pray,

Amen.

Continue to shower Your grace and blessings upon us Lord, and may Your love and peace prevail in our home. Amen.
