I think it’s safe to say that if you’re visiting this page, the title caught your attention. You want to know about me and how I arrived at the conclusion that Pentecostal church services are “crazy” (I think crazy is in quotations because it’s not a proper adjective, but we’ll get back to that later). I’m Eric. My name is Eric. I attend a local church here in town. It’s a little bit of a drive for me, but service is every Sunday morning at 11 a.m.
To an observer, Pentecostal church services can seem chaotic and even violent. They can include babbling in unknown languages, a harsh cacophony of sound, people being slain in the spirit, whooping and hollering, and jumping up and down in the aisles. Born-again Christians fling themselves about trying to get into a holy trance-like state. They shake their heads and bodies violently back and forth. They roll on the floor in what look like convulsions. Some of them are temporarily deafened; some collapse under the pressure and are carried out on stretchers; some scream out as though dying or have to be helped to their feet after they do collapse; some break into grins when they think they’ve been saved; others start speaking in tongues. These scenes are re-enacted at hundreds of Pentecostal churches every week around the world
As a visitor in early 2010, I attended a Pentecostal church service that was anything but traditional. The music was significantly different from what I am accustomed to, and the choir expressed emotion in a way I had never seen before.
The Pentecostal church service was crazy. The music was loud, the people were dancing, and there was an abundance of yelling.
The preacher spoke in tongues as he preached to the congregation. He told them that they needed to be baptized in water and speak in tongues to receive salvation. During his sermon, he would often run down the aisle of the church and grab someone out of their seat and lay hands on them. The person would then fall over on the floor while others reached out to touch them while they were speaking in tongues.
The people who were receiving this baptism of the Holy Ghost were lifted up off their feet and carried around by other members of the congregation until they either fell over or came back down again onto their feet again.
During this time, some members of the congregation were dancing with wild abandon while others stood around watching what was going on with wide eyes and mouths open in awe at what was happening before them!
There is a lot of craziness that happens during a Pentecostal church service. The members of the congregation are always very excited and energetic, which can be a bit overbearing to new visitors.
The preachers in these churches are often very charismatic and lively speakers who use their voice to communicate the message of God’s word to their congregation. They use elements like music, dance, and even comedy to help keep the audience engaged.
Some people may think that this kind of worship is too much, but I believe it is important for everyone to get involved in something they love doing so much!
Pentecostal Church Service Speaking In Tongues
Everyone was speaking in tongues and running around the church.
Some of the parishioners were speaking in tongues, while others were running around the church. All of these things were happening at once, and I was trying my best not to panic. I had never been in a situation like this before. If there was ever a time that I needed divine intervention from God above, it was now – when everyone around me seemed to have descended into madness.
The pastor was breaking glass bottles, and people were pressing against each other.
The pastor was very loud and energetic. He shouted, spoke in tongues and spoke in a language that no one understood. However, some of the congregation could understand him and they responded by shouting loudly back at him.
It’s a lizard!
You are not hallucinating. It’s a lizard, and it’s green.
You’ve seen plenty of lizards before, but you never noticed them having bright green scales. This one does! It has a thin body and a small head with pointy ears that make it look like an alien from outer space.
It crawls onto the altar, lifts its tail up high, and lets out an impressive stream of golden-yellow liquid into the air above your head—right over your face!
Pentecostal Church is crazy!

I was at a Pentecostal church service and the pastor was breaking glass bottles on stage as we all looked on in amazement. Some people were running around the church, while others were speaking in tongues and pressing against each other as if they were trying to escape from something that was chasing them. A few people thought they saw a lizard!
It truly was crazy!
