    Ifa Prayer For Protection

The Ifa prayer for protection is a powerful ritual that originated in West Africa and has been handed down through generations of practitioners. The ritual combines elements of astrology and divination to gain insight into what is causing you harm and how you can remove yourself from harm’s way. In Yoruban folklore, there are several deities who protect people from evil spirits and other dangers such as murder, illness, accidents and natural disasters like floods or earthquakes. One such deity is Osun, who represents water and fertility. She is often depicted as having blue eyes and red lips because those colors represent beauty; however, she also has black skin because this color represents death (which is needed in order for life to thrive). Another deity associated with protection is Obatala; he represents wisdom and orderliness among other things as well as being associated with purity because he lives in a white house without doors or windows where no evil spirits may enter. If you are feeling unsafe, or someone has threatened you or your family, here is a simple prayer to ask the orishas to protect you. It’s important to remember that this is not a substitute for professional help. This prayer should be used as a complement to therapy and other forms of support. In Yoruba tradition, there are two types of evil: ogboni and ogun. Ogun is more physical and external, while ogboni is more internal and spiritual. When we talk about protection from evil, we’re usually talking about ogun; however, this prayer can be used to ask for protection from both types of evil. he first step in this process is to identify which orisha(s) might be best suited to protect you during this time of crisis. If you’re unsure what type of problem you’re facing—whether it’s an external challenge or internal struggle—you may consider asking a priest or priestess for advice on who would best help you. nce you’ve chosen an orisha who might be able to help, all that remains is making sure their altar has enough offerings so that they’ll pay attention when asked for help.

Oh Ori. Oh Ori. Oh ori, my Ori, the owner of my head, the possessor of my head, the possessor of my destiny, the one that controls my head. I am coming to you today. I am coming to you today. Today I give all my worries and problems to you, Oh ori. Oh Ori.

The prayer is an invocation to the god of destiny. In the prayer, the worshipper asks for protection from the gods. This is a plea for help. It is also a plea for protection from evil spirits. The prayer is a plea for help. It is also a plea for protection from evil spirits.

    Ifa Prayer For Peace

This is a simple, beautiful and powerful Ifa prayer. I will surely memorize this supplication. It is full of deep meaning and esoteric wisdom. This iwure resonates deeply within me. Ifa and my own life experiences have previously made it known to me that we can convert poison into medicine. We are able to gain and manifest the power of the soul through the ‘poisons’ of adversity, trials, opposition, temptation and challenge. From these poisons, we should not run. We should utilize them to convert them into medicine and longevity by overcoming, persevering and prevailing against them. Just like the medicine that cures us from the venom of the snake is made from the same poisonous venom, we can gauge virtue, spiritual power and divine radiance by courageously confronting and sublimating these poisons into life-giving medicines. There is so much meaning and application that can be unpacked and brought out of this single prayer of Ejiogbe. The light of Ifa will surround and fill whoever fervently recites this prayer. There is deep power, meaning and grace in this prayer. I particularly appreciate the symbolic meaning of the igbi bin laboriously and perseveringly moving through the rough grains of sand and ‘eating, the poison-like sand yet gaining strength, resilience and longevity as a product of its effort, exercise and determination to keep moving against the bothersome, cumbersome and irritating resistance. This prayer on the surface looks like a simple poetic analogy, but it is in fact permeated with many divine lights, powers and truths. Ifa is truly astounding in how it communicates its sacred meaning, power and benefit. The words of this simple but profound prayer were arranged by a masterful and holy seer, sage and priest. Simply beautiful and unassumingly powerful.

The verse under ejiogbe or ogbe meji:

    Orunmila koo fi yedenu
    Koo fi de kun
    Ko fi yede gbogbo ara
    Ifa koo seti were
    Orunmila koo ro wale aye
Ki o jebo  nan I fin
Ko o  je ru o da
    Ifa jee a saye re
Ki ire yi o dode orun gbure gbure  bayi ifa

A difa fun igbin nla ti o  jele ti  o ni ku
    Igbin jele , omo awo
Igbin jele e si ku mo
    Igbin jele omo awo
    Jee won gbo
    Ki won to  bayi ifa

    Translation under ejiogbe
    Orunmila calmly hear our supplications
    Merciful accepts our prayers
    Compassionayely receive our desire
Give full attention to our request
Orunmila we ask you to descend on Earth
    Accept our sacrifice
    Grant our desire and needs
    Grant us happiness in life
Let our prayer ascend to the highest heaven
Thus declare ifa to the Giant Snail
Anything you eat , even the sand of the Earth
    Shall make you live long

Devotees and disciples  of ifa are Giant Snail with absolute patient to live long
That eat poison and live long
Bless all good and faithful devotees with long life , sound health and victory
    Ase

    Aalafia.

     2. LIBATIONS

Libations are an age-old practice by many indigenous peoples across the globe. It is the act of putting cool water or alcohol on the earth/ground to attract coolness into our spaces and to ourselves. Libations can be done before a ritual or conversation, whether at a protest or in your home, your office, a meeting, or other spaces that may be part of your daily life or community space or events.

    THE CONCEPT OF “COOLNESS”

Water is life, we are water and our world is water. Water is of major importance to all living things; in some organisms, up to 90% of their body weight comes from water. Up to 60% of the human adult body is water. The earth is 71% water. The concept of coolness is integral to the delicate balance of our planet, the rise of 1 to 2 degrees in temperature of the world’s ocean that hold 95% of the earth’s water has been catastrophic thus far (hurricanes, tsunamis, melting ice caps). Similarly, when we get “hot headed” as individuals or loose our cool, we don’t think clearly, we allow emotional challenges to take over such as anxiety, anger, frustration, self-doubt, etc. We must maintain our own coolness to think clearly, calmly and strategically and for our own wellbeing, that of the collective, and that of mother earth.

    DIRECTIONS

Use a small bowl and put half a cup of water in it. Ensure the water is room temperature or cold (do not use hot water) Dip your index finger into the water and drop a few drops of water onto the ground while chant the first phrase below “May the earth be cool”. Repeat while you chant each one of the phrases that follow.

    May mother earth be cool
May our guiding spirits be cool
    May our ancestors be cool
May my (our) heads be cool

    You could add:

    May conversations be cool
    My the day be cool
    May our movement be cool
May my (our) comrades be cool
May those who want to harm me be cool
    May this day be cool
May……(add any other thing, situation, event, etc you want to bring coolness to)

Close out the libation with call and response 3 times.

You say: May it be so!
Group responds: Surely shall it be!
