KPLC Recruiting Chief Information System Auditor July 2025

    Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) is seeking a qualified professional to fill the position of Chief Information System Auditor. This pivotal role involves overseeing the audit of KPLC’s information systems to ensure integrity, security, and efficiency.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Information Systems Audit Management: Lead the planning, development, and execution of audit strategies, including testing, evaluation, quality assurance, and reporting of audit outcomes.
    • Risk Assessment: Continuously evaluate the IT environment—encompassing operating systems, network infrastructure, and integrated systems—to identify key risk areas and prioritize audit focus accordingly.
    • Support to Financial and Operational Auditors: Assist in pinpointing significant information system risks and develop automation tools to enhance the audit department’s effectiveness.
    • Project Participation: Offer risk and control consultancy during the implementation of new technologies and business applications, collaborating with technical and functional project teams.
    • Targeted System Audits: Plan and execute audits in specific areas identified through comprehensive risk assessments.

    Qualifications and Requirements

    Candidates must meet the following criteria:

    • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field from a recognized institution. A postgraduate diploma in ICT or a master’s degree is advantageous.
    • Professional Certification: Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) or an equivalent certification. Membership in the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA) or a similar professional body is required.
    • Experience: A minimum of nine years of professional experience, with at least three years in a supervisory role. Experience at a senior level in one of the Big Four audit firms is a plus.
    • Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of IT controls and industry best practices.
    • Soft Skills: Strong communication abilities, high ethical standards, results-driven mindset, analytical and strategic thinking, creativity, and alignment with the company’s vision and values.

    • Current Clearance from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC).
    • Current report from an approved Credit Reference Bureau (CRB).
