The first thing you should know is that there are two types of pastors: ordained and commissioned. Commissioned pastors can only perform certain roles, while ordained pastors can do almost anything related to ministry work. If you’re interested in being an ordained pastor, you’ll need to apply for ordination through the Church of Malaysia.
How To Become A Pastor In Malaysia
This program offers the courses that are required for credentialing purposes under the Non-Formal Theological Training category with the Assemblies of God of Malaysia.
Admission Criteria
- Applicants must be at least 35 years of age and have at least three years of proven ministry.
- A strong recommendation from the pastor/church is required.
Duration of Completion
- The courses required for Ministry Associate and Licensed Minister credentials can be completed within a year of full-time study.
- Ordained Minister credential courses can be completed within two years of full-time study.
