    A Biblical Garden of Flowers

The Bible is a great source of inspiration for Christian flower symbolism. There are more than 100 references to flowers in the Bible, and many passages contain beautiful descriptions of flowers that can be used as a basis for creating your own Biblical Garden of Flowers.

Flowers have been used for centuries to express sentiments of love, courage, hope and faith. The seven days between Passover and Pentecost are known as the “Seven Days of Flowers”. At this time each year Jews place lilies on the gravesites of their loved ones.

Flowers were also part of ancient pagan worship practices but this doesn’t mean that we can’t use them for our Christian worship today!

5 Flowers Mentioned In The Bible

    1. Lilies

The lily, a flower that appears in the Bible several times, is easily recognizable due to its simplicity and beauty. It’s a symbol of purity and rebirth and renewal, as well as resurrection. The lily has been used throughout history as a symbol of motherhood. In some cases, it’s even been associated with God himself!

In Genesis 2:1–3, God creates Adam out of dust, then places him in Eden, where “the Lord God had formed every beast of the field.” He also created all kinds of birds but when he was done making them, he said they were good but not very good (or beautiful). Then he made all kinds of cattle and beasts but they weren’t any better than the ones before them; they were just different types instead. Once again, we see how even though there are many things out there that look like flowers today, we can still see how beautiful something simple can be with just one glance at this flower called “Lilly!”

Now, after creating animals for Adam, I believe he must have realized something wasn’t quite right about his creation because none of these creatures would talk back or respond except maybe say something like ‘moo’ when hungry so that left only one option available left: humans! So what did God do next? Well, if you read closely enough, you’ll notice that when talking about his creation, there was mention of man being perfect so perhaps this means mankind wasn’t quite ready yet either, because not only did women need someone else too but also children needed parents too before becoming fully grown adults themselves someday soon down the road (if ever).

    2. Roses

Roses have a long history of significance in religious practice and are found throughout the Bible. Their meaning ranges from love to purity, sacrifice and martyrdom.

Roses are often associated with Christ’s love for humanity because of their beautiful color and fragrant scent. The red rose symbolizes martyrdom, while the white rose stands for purity and innocence, and pink roses symbolize gratitude, grace, admiration and joy.

    3. Almond Blossoms

The almond tree is the first flower to bloom in the spring. It is mentioned many times in the Bible and it symbolizes several things:

    • The resurrection of Jesus. When Jesus rose from the dead, he said, “He that believeth in me shall never die.” This is similar to how an almond tree grows up in winter but blossoms in early spring after it has been dormant for months without any leaves.
    • God’s faithfulness. The almond tree also represents God’s faithfulness because every year they blossom again, even though they get destroyed every year by cold weather or other threats (the trunk can be eaten by rodents or bugs)

    4. Pomegranate Flowers

Pomegranate flowers are mentioned in the Song of Solomon, which is a bible passage about romantic love.

The pomegranate flower is symbolic of the church and the fruit of the Holy Spirit, but it’s not actually good for your heart.

    5. Myrtle Branches

Myrtle branches are mentioned in Song of Solomon 2:13, which reads: “The fig tree puts forth its figs, and the vines with the tender grape give a good smell. Arise, my love, my fair one, and come away.” The meaning of this flower is love. Myrtle was often used as a symbol of peace or victory because it was considered a strong plant that could thrive even in rough conditions. In ancient Greece, myrtle crowns were given to winners of athletic competitions or at weddings and funerals.

The flowers are not only beautiful to look at, but also contain deep meaning to enrich our relationship with Christ, who is the Creator of all things beautiful.

As you learn more about the meaning behind flowers, you’ll discover that God’s Word is full of references to them. For example, in Psalm 104:12, it says, “You cause grass to grow for cattle and plants for people’s work.”

In the book of Job 28:7–10, it says, “The Lord gives wisdom and his blessing teaches his ways.” In Isaiah 40:8, it says, “The grass withers and the flower fades but the word of our God will stand forever.” In John 12:24, Jesus said, “Unless a kernel of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, then it produces many seeds.”. All these verses show us that we need not worry about our lives because God will always be there for us, no matter what happens in our lives!

Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, and Timothy our brother, To the saints and faithful brothers in Christ at Colossae: Grace to you and peace from God our Father. We always thank God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, when we pray for you, since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love that you have for all the saints, because of the hope laid up for you in heaven. Of this you have heard before in the word of the truth, the gospel, …

“Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life? And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. …

For the palace is forsaken, the populous city deserted; the hill and the watchtower will become dens forever, a joy of wild donkeys, a pasture of flocks; until the Spirit is poured upon us from on high, and the wilderness becomes a fruitful field, and the fruitful field is deemed a forest. Then justice will dwell in the wilderness, and righteousness abide in the fruitful field. And the effect of righteousness will be peace, and the result of righteousness, quietness and trust forever. My people will abide in a peaceful habitation, in secure dwellings, and in quiet resting places. …

For thus the Lord said to me: “I will quietly look from my dwelling like clear heat in sunshine, like a cloud of dew in the heat of harvest.” For before the harvest, when the blossom is over, and the flower becomes a ripening grape, he cuts off the shoots with pruning hooks, and the spreading branches he lops off and clears away.

To the choirmaster: according to The Gittith. A Psalm of the Sons of Korah. How lovely is your dwelling place, O Lord of hosts! My soul longs, yes, faints for the courts of the Lord; my heart and flesh sing for joy to the living God. Even the sparrow finds a home, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young, at your altars, O Lord of hosts, my King and my God. Blessed are those who dwell in your house, ever singing your praise! Selah Blessed are those whose strength is in you, in whose heart are the highways to Zion. …

Solomon the son of David established himself in his kingdom, and the Lord his God was with him and made him exceedingly great. Solomon spoke to all Israel, to the commanders of thousands and of hundreds, to the judges, and to all the leaders in all Israel, the heads of fathers’ houses. And Solomon, and all the assembly with him, went to the high place that was at Gibeon, for the tent of meeting of God, which Moses the servant of the Lord had made in the wilderness, was there. (But David had brought up the ark of God from Kiriath-jearim to the place that David had prepared for it, for he had pitched a tent for it in Jerusalem.) Moreover, the bronze altar that Bezalel the son of Uri, son of Hur, had made, was there before the tabernacle of the Lord. And Solomon and the assembly sought it out.
