Dear Father Solanus, your heart was full of compassion for the sick and afflicted. With confidence in your powerful intercession, we beg you to help us in our present need.

Dear Father Solanus, your heart was full of compassion for the sick and afflicted. With confidence in your powerful intercession, we beg you to help us in our present need.

  • Intercede for me and my loved ones who are ill.
  • Bless those who are ill with a speedy recovery.
  • Protect them from harm, danger or temptation while they are recovering from their illness.
  • Guide their doctors and nurses so that healing may occur more quickly by God’s grace through faith and prayer alone without any medical treatment apart from what is absolutely necessary or natural remedies like herbs which have been used since ancient times because they contain God’s help within them just like St Francis of Assisi would have used when he lived on earth too long ago! Amen

  • (Here mention your request).
  • Be specific, concrete and honest. Don’t ask for something that is impossible or unreasonable. For example, if you are going through a difficult time don’t ask for an immediate cure from illness or financial hardship; instead pray for strength to endure the situation and wisdom to know what steps to take next.
  • Remember that Casey was not able to do anything without God so make sure you place yourself firmly within His will at all times.

Intercede for us through Jesus Christ the Great Physician.

“`

Father, You are the Great Physician. In Your hands are all of our healing and salvation. Through Jesus Christ, You have healed us from our sins and strengthened us in the faith. You have delivered us from death and brought life to those who were dead in sin, through the power of Your Son’s Resurrection. Bless these people with all good things that they may glorify Your name even more!

We ask this through Jesus Christ Our Lord, Who lives and reigns with You eternally as one God, now and forevermore!

May all who invoke your aid be blessed with good health of mind and body.

May all who invoke your aid be blessed with good health of mind and body.

May the sick recover their strength, the weary find rest, and those tormented by anxiety find peace. May all sense of doubt flee from them and may they live in trust and confidence because you are present in their midst.

May all who suffer know that you have come to heal them, that you have made yourself known by your touch upon their lives, by the consolation you bring to them through others.

Help us, too, to imitate our Lord and Savior in caring for those who are sick and poor. Amen.

There are many who, because of an illness or a difficult situation in their lives, are unable to pray for themselves. Since Jesus said that we should “pray for each other” (James 5:16), you can support them with this prayer. You may also use this prayer when you need healing yourself.

Father, help us to imitate your Son in caring for those who are sick and poor. Amen.

A prayer for healing from Father Solanus Casey.

Father Solanus Casey was known for his healing prayers. This prayer is an example of what he would pray over people:

May the grace and peace of God our Father and our Lord, Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.

I ask you now to kneel down before the Blessed Sacrament and say your rosary (or pray any other way you know how).

Make a novena to St. Jude Thaddeus, patron of hopeless cases or those in desperate need of a miracle or help—and ask him to intercede on behalf of this person in need.

Father Solanus Prayer Request

Father Solanus Casey was a canonized saint, and his prayers are still being used by people around the world. \\He was born in 1848 in County Limerick, Ireland. He became a priest at age 22 and served as a pastor in New York and Canada until he retired in 1920. In retirement, he lived at Holy Cross College and continued to pray for others.

Father Solanus Casey died in 1957 at age 99. He has been considered for sainthood since 1973, when Pope Paul VI recognized his “heroic virtues.” He was canonized in June of 2018 by Pope Francis, who said that Father Solanus Casey’s life was an example of “solidarity with the poor.”

Since this site is intended for persons of all faith, a few words of explanation are necessary, particularly for non-Catholics or for those unfamiliar with the works of Father Solanus Casey. Father Solanus (1870-1957) was an American Capuchin priest. A blessing to all those with whom he came into contact, Father Solanus served God in the New York City area from 1904 to 1923, in Detroit from 1924 to 1945, and in Huntington, Indiana from 1946 to 1956. The last year of his life was spent back in Detroit.

Father Solanus is not, as of this writing, a saint. Pope John Paul II bestowed upon Father Solanus the title of “Venerable” on July 11, 1995, an important step on the road to sainthood, but public devotion is allowed only after beatification. For that, the Church looks for evidence of at least one true miracle.

Thus, the prayer below is not a prayer to Father Solanus. (The “Father” in the first line refers to God the Father.) It is, rather, a prayer to God, asking that the special request of the person saying the prayer be granted in connection with the memory of Father Solanus.

If you say this prayer once each day for nine days in a row, and then have your special request granted, please honor the memory of Father Solanus and his good works by reporting this receipt of God’s favor to: Vice-Postulator, 1780 Mt Elliott Avenue, Detroit MI 48207, USA.

Father Solanus Casey Miracles

Father Solanus Casey is one of the most famous saints in the Catholic Church. He was born in Wisconsin in 1870 and died in Detroit, Michigan in 1957. He was a missionary priest who worked tirelessly for over 50 years to help others find God’s love and peace.

That miracle was acknowledged by Pope Francis in 2017, when Casey was beatified following the healing of Paula Medina Zarate, a retired teacher from Panama. She prayed in 2012 at Casey’s tomb in Detroit, and afterward, the genetic skin condition that had plagued her most of her life vanished.

It was the first step in Casey’s path to sainthood. July 30 was chosen as Casey’s feast day. That also happens to be the same day Ostrowski saw the brown-robed figure by his hospital bed for the first time.

Prayers for Healing to Pray for Sick Family and Friends

prayer to heal sick family and friends

“Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits, who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit, who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy” ~ Psalm 103:2-4

About a year ago, I sat in an office where an oncologist told my husband after three battles with cancer that sometimes you just have to have faith. I sat there and thought about how the burden of healing sickness is never on the patient, how it is never even on a doctor, but how it is always, always, on God.

The burden of healing falls on my God who knows the plans he has for me even when my own hopes collapse around me. The burden of healing lies in my God whose ways aren’t a faith formula, but a mystery. The burden of healing doesn’t lie in saying just the right words or praying something that sounds beautiful. And I don’t know about you but that frees me up to pray a little more boldly for God to heal.

If you or your loved ones are sick and in need of healing, whether physical, spiritual, or emotional healing, here are prayers you can pray for them today:

A Prayer for Healing Sick Family or Friends

Lord Jesus, thank you that you love [name of the person who needs healing]. I know that you hate what their illness is doing to them/me. I ask, in the name of Jesus, that you would heal this disease, that you would have compassion and bring healing from all sickness.

Your word says in Psalm 107:19-20 that when we call out to you the Eternal one you will give the order, heal and rescue us from certain death. In the Bible, I have read of miraculous healing and I believe that you still heal the same way today. I believe that there is no illness you cannot heal after all the bible tells of you raising people from the dead so I ask for your healing in this situation.

I also know from my experience of life on earth that not everyone is healed if that happens here then keep my heart soft towards you, help me to understand your plan, and help me to be excited about heaven.

Lord Jesus, thank you that our hope for healing is in you. If there are doctors or treatments that you would want to use to heal this disease I pray that you would guide [name of the person who needs healing] to them. I ask for wisdom and discernment about which treatments to pursue.

God, I thank you that [name of the person who needs healing] belongs to you and that you are in control of everything that happens from our first breath to our last sigh.

Amen.

May this prayer for the sick guide your thoughts and communication with the Lord! Remember that the Holy Spirit intercedes for us when we do not know what to say. God knows your heart!

To Heal Pain and Suffering

I ask for your healing over every part of my life – physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. I ask that you’d make me strong and resilient for the days ahead. I know that you have a great purpose for those who believe in your name.

Help me not to allow the distractions and struggles of my days to weigh me down to the point of exhaustion. I know that your desire is for me to live this life abundantly and free. And my greatest desire is to reflect your love and light to a world that so desperately needs your hope.

For those I love who are facing cancer or a hard diagnosis, I pray for your covering of healing and grace. I pray for your strength and your great peace to fill their lives, reminding them that you are close. Thank you that nothing is impossible with you. Thank you that you’re fighting for us and you are bigger than anything this world throws our way.

I lean fully on you Lord, for You alone are able. I love you; I need you this day, and always.

In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Prayer for Health and Healing

Almighty God,
you are the only source of health and healing.
In you there is calm,
and the only true peace in the universe.

Grant to each one of us your children
an awareness of your presence,
and give us perfect confidence in you.

In all pain and weariness and anxiety
teach us to yield ourselves to your never failing care,
knowing that your love and power surround us,

trusting in your wisdom and providence
to give us health and strength and peace
when your time is best;
through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Amen.

Prayer for the Sick: Health of Mind and Body

Almighty God,
you know that we are surrounded by many great dangers,
and because of our human frailty
we cannot withstand them.

Give us health of mind and body
so that we who suffer under sin
may overcome and win the victory in you;

through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord,
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and forever. Amen.

Failures, Successes, Healing

Lord, I commit my failures as well as my successes into your hands, and I bring for your healing the people and the situations, the wrongs and the hurts of the past.

Give me courage, strength, and generosity to let go and move on, leaving the past behind me, and living the present to the full.

Lead me always to be positive as I ‘entrust the past to your mercy, the present to your love, and the future to your providence’.

Prayer for Healing of Someone Hospitalized

Gracious Father, all health and healing are gifts from your hand. We pray for [Name], give his doctors and nurses the wisdom and skill as they work for his healing*.

While he waits and faces many unknowns, calm all doubts and fears with the Word of your promise that nothing can separate us from your love that is ours in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:39).

Speed [Name]’s healing if it is your will, and give him an extra measure of patience as he waits for you to work all these things for his good (Romans 8:28); through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
