Bible Verses About Sabbath

The Bible is packed full of great life lessons and motivational passages. These Bible verses about Sabbath will help you find more peace, joy and balance in your life without sacrificing fun. The Bible’s teachings on the Sabbath are clear, but they are also paradoxical. It’s a day of rest and spiritual renewal, but it is also clearly mandated as a holy and sacred time upon which Christians must worship. For those who do not hold a modern view of Sabbath keeping for one reason or another, scripture can offer much to help them understand how to live out their devotion to God in a day-to-day way.

Christian Sabbath: The Christian Sabbath is a “rest” day—not in the sense of being inactive and lazy, but rather in the sense of resting from your righteous labors and entering in to something greater. Christians who choose to observe God’s Sabbath understand that their time can’t be measured by their own personal whims—they understand that there are higher callings.

In the Christian Bible, the Sabbath (or Sabbath day) is one of the Ten Commandments handed down to Moses by God. The commandment reads “You shall have no other gods before me. You shall not make for yourself an idol, whether in the form of anything that is in heaven above, or that is on the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God,” (Exodus 20:3-5).

This blog post is all about finding Bible verses about the Sabbath. The Word of God speaks very clearly to this issue, and much can be learned from studying it carefully. Find Bible verses about the importance of keeping a Sabbath rest.
