I am a believer in the power of prayer. Prayer is not just something you do before bed, but it is also something that can be used to achieve certain goals in your life and the lives of others. The Bible tells us that we have been given power over demons and diseases by the laying on of hands.
Isaiah 41:10
“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need and thank him for all that he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts as you live in Christ Jesus. And now I will tell you the most important thing of all: It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in human leaders.” – Isaiah 41:10 (NLT)
Psalm 147:3
The Bible says, “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds” (Psalm 147:3).
This is a promise from God that He will heal your heart. This can happen any time you need it to, but it usually happens when you are at your weakest point, when you have hit rock bottom and there is no other way out except for God to come in and do what only He can do—Heal!
Matthew 8:17
Healing is a promise from God. It is not conditional on your circumstances or the severity of your illness. Jesus said “I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly” (John 10:10).
Jesus also said “the prayer of faith shall save the sick” (James 5:15). The Bible promises healing to those who believe:
- “They shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.” Mark 16:18
- “And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature” (Mark 16:15).
In addition to believing in God’s power to heal you, we must also ask for His help when we need it—and seek it out diligently. This can be done through prayer or by simply meditating upon scripture with an open mind while asking God for guidance in your situation if necessary.
Exodus 15:26
God heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. The Lord is a God of healing, comfort, strength and love. He is merciful to all those who call upon Him in faith!
The LORD is a God of mercy; His grace is everlasting.
Genesis 50:20
In Genesis 50:20, Joseph’s brothers came and bowed down to him with their faces to the ground. “Do not be afraid,” said Joseph, “for am I in the place of God? You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good…”
As you enter into your healing journey this week and throughout the rest of your life, remember that God is with you always. He will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5). If we call on His name in faith according to His promises (Romans 10:13), He will answer us and heal us from our sicknesses and diseases (Matthew 8:16).
Luke 11:9-10
Jesus said, “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.”
James 5:15-16
- Pray for each other
- Pray for your family
- Pray for your friends
- Pray for your neighbors
- Pray for the sick, the lost, and the hurting
Psalm 103:2-5
- God is merciful and kind.
- He heals the brokenhearted.
- He redeems your life from destruction,
- if you make the Most High your refuge (Psalm 91:1).
Jeremiah 17:14
“The power of God to heal, save and forgive is not limited. He can change lives, restore relationships and bring peace. Your prayers are important to Him as you intercede on behalf of those who are ill or hurting in other ways. Ask God to give you the prophetic gift needed to help those who need healing or deliverance from evil spirits (see 1 John 4:1).
Matthew 7:7-11
The Bible says: “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you.” (Matthew 7:7). Ask for what you want! God wants you to ask Him for anything that is good for your life. He doesn’t want anyone to be sick or poor or lonely because Jesus cares about these things too (see Hebrews 13:3).
If someone needs healing from illness or disease, pray for them! You can even pray especially hard when someone has been hurt by another person—pray that they are healed in their spirit as well as their body. Remember that everyone needs healing sometimes! Even if someone has hurt your feelings in some way—or even if they have done something terrible—they still need healing too! In fact, they may need more than just physical healing because often times our words can hurt others just as much as any other kind of injury might do so physically…
2 Corinthians 12 :9-10
Jesus is the healer. He’s the one who can heal us, and he’s the one who will heal us. He’s a compassionate physician and healer; his healing power flows directly from his heart. God doesn’t just want you to be healthy—he wants you to be completely whole. If you’re suffering physically or emotionally, Jesus wants to help you get well again!
He cares about your health!
In Jesus name, I pray for healing.
- In Jesus name, I pray for healing.
- I pray for my family and friends who are in pain.
- I pray for the whole world to be healed from any suffering or sickness that may cause them harm.
short bible verses for healing and strength
The Bible has many verses that can be helpful in a difficult time. It’s important to find one that resonates with you, and it may take some time. The following are some of my favorites:
Psalm 27:4
Psalm 27:4
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. But if you seek his face, he will never fail you. When you are in desperate need, he will provide you with all the strength that you need to get through your troubles. In fact, God is there for us at every moment of our lives! Whenever we’re struggling with something—whether it’s a financial issue or an illness—he will always be there to help us out. He promises that if we seek him out during these difficult times, he won’t let us down!
Psalm 31:24
While it may not be as fast as you want, healing is a process. There will be ups and downs, times when you feel better and others when you don’t, but with God’s help, healing can happen. When the road gets tough, take care of yourself by eating well and getting enough sleep; ask for help from friends or family members; trust that God has a plan for your life (even if it doesn’t look like what you thought).
When we bring our pain to God through prayer, faith in his grace grows stronger because we see he is faithful even when circumstances aren’t what we expected them to be.
Psalm 34:18
The Bible is a great source of comfort, wisdom, hope and strength. It also provides great love for you to draw from during your time of need. It can help bring peace to you as you read a verse or two from the bible before bedtime or when you wake up in the morning.
When we are hurting or feeling overwhelmed by life’s circumstances it can be easy for us to give up hope on life altogether. But just like David did when he wrote Psalm 34:18 “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit,” there is still comfort in knowing that God is with us through our darkest moments.
Psalm 37:4
Psalm 37:4 says, “Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart.” This verse is a powerful one that can help us when we are trying to heal from emotional wounds. It reminds us that God’s word is alive and active (James 1:21). When we come to him with our needs, he promises to not return void or frustrate his plans for our lives (Isaiah 55:11). He has given us his word as a promise, so we can trust him completely.
Psalm 46:1-3
While the earth quakes, and the mountains shake;
Though the waters roar and foam, and the mountains tremble with their surging.
The LORD of hosts is with us; The God of Jacob is our fortress. Selah
Psalm 55:22
Psalm 55:22 says, “The Lord had kept my mouth from evil, and my lips from speaking deceit.”
In this verse, David is saying that God has protected him from the pain of others. He has helped David keep his heart pure, so that he doesn’t speak back with lies or bitterness.
What we can take away from this verse is that God will always protect us from the things that could hurt us most.
Psalm 61:2
Psalm 61:2: God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
Psalm 9:9: The LORD is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble.
Psalm 18:2: The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; My God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.
Psalm 118:14
Psalm 118:14 is a comforting and encouraging verse that can help you through difficult times. The Bible is an excellent source of comfort and strength when you’re going through hard times. It also promises to give you hope when things seem hopeless. This particular verse states, “The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me.”

Proverbs 3:5-6
Proverbs 3:5-6 is another great verse for getting through a difficult time. It says:
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. (NIV)
There are many verses that can be helpful during difficult times—the Bible is a great source of strength and comfort when we need it most! The Bible is God’s word, which means it contains truth that will help you get through any situation you may face!
Isaiah 41:10
“Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.” -Isaiah 41:10
Are you struggling with a difficult situation? Are you worried about something that seems too overwhelming to face alone? This verse reminds us that we don’t have to go through life alone—God is always there with us, ready to offer His love and strength when we need it most.
Isaiah 43:2
- “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned; neither shall the flame scorch you.” (Isaiah 43:2 KJV)
In this powerful verse from the book of Isaiah, God reassures his people that he will never leave them or forsake them. He promises to walk with them through every difficult situation they encounter in this life—and in fact promises that even if they are surrounded by water or fire (or sickness), he will always guide and protect them from harm.
