I know that’s a bold statement and many of you might be wondering how I came to this conclusion. Well, let me share with you my experience and see if it resonates with you.
I grew up in a Christian home where we were taught that marriage is the ultimate union of two people who love each other. However, as I grew older, I started to question whether or not this was really true or just another societal belief.
So, what did I do? I decided to get married at the age of 23, believing that this would be the best thing for me because it would allow me to have “everything” (a family, a home, etc.). However, after three years of marriage, I realized that there were many things about marriage that didn’t make sense but at least I had a family! This was until one day, when my husband told me he wanted out and filed for divorce. He said he no longer loved me and that he had been cheating on me for over two years!
