St bridget prayer for souls in purgatory

There are few things in life more comforting than the thought of a loved one being safe and happy. But what if that person has died? How can you know for sure that they’re still safe?

The truth is, you can’t. We don’t know for sure what happens after death, but we do know that God is our creator, and He loves us. That’s why we should pray for our loved ones every day—pray they’re safe, pray they’re happy, pray they’re in heaven with Jesus Christ.

It’s never easy to lose someone we care about, but as Christians we have hope that those who have passed on before us are experiencing life in another dimension. As St. Bridget said: “Prayers are seeds; if you sow them upon earth, they will not bear fruit.” And so it is with prayer for souls in purgatory—if you sow it here on earth (through prayer), then it will bear fruit there in heaven (through their salvation).

We all know that the first step to a better life is recognizing that there is something wrong with your current one. You have to admit that you want to change, and then you have to work hard to do it.

This is why I believe in the power of prayer. Prayers are like a first step: they are a way of admitting that you need help, and they are also a way of asking for it. When we pray, we’re opening ourselves up to receive something amazing. And I think this is especially true when it comes to prayer for souls in purgatory.

Bridget of Sweden, who is also known as Saint Bridget, was a Catholic saint who lived in the 13th century. Her life was devoted to serving God and helping others find solace in their faith. In addition to being a nun and abbess, she was also a mystic who claimed to have seen visions throughout her life. She is often seen as one of the most powerful intercessors on earth, especially for those who are suffering in purgatory.

The first thing we need to understand about purgatory is that it’s not hell. It’s actually the place where souls go after they die but before they get into heaven. Purgatory is not permanent—it only lasts for a limited period of time until all of the person’s sins have been cleansed by God’s grace through prayer and good works done during life on earth (some theologians believe there may be other ways for souls in purgatory to be cleansed).

St bridget prayer for souls in purgatory

This prayer was given to St. Bridget in a vision from Our Lord. Jesus told her that 1000 souls would be released from Purgatory each time it is said and that anyone who says this prayer with devotion for themselves or for others will never see the fires of hell.

Eternal Father, I offer You the most precious blood of thy Divine Son, Jesus, in union with the Masses said Throughout the world today, for all the Holy Souls in Purgatory.

For every Mass said today, especially in honor of Your Blessed Mother’s birthday or as a thanksgiving for favors received or for some grace obtained through her intercession.

For all those who have died this past year and who were members of our Parish family.

For all those who will die this coming year and who were members of our Parish family.

Amen.

This word carries with it a weight of meaning far beyond its simple pronunciation. Amen is the word of faith, and when spoken aloud, it is both a solemn promise and an affirmation of the truth that God has revealed to us in Christ. When we say amen, we are vowing to hold fast to this truth until death; it is a solemn oath made by each person who believes in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.

The St. Bridget prayer saves a thousand souls from purgatory.

To pray this prayer, you simply have to say:

“Saint Bridget, daughter of Dagda, I ask you to obtain for me from God what I desire.”

You can pray it once a day or more often. If you want to pray it daily and are not currently in a state of grace (meaning that you have committed a mortal sin), please go to confession first so as not to delay your soul’s progress in purgatory.

If you love your family and friends, then you will probably want them to go straight to Heaven. I know I do. But just in case someone dies while they are not in a state of grace or still have some temporal punishment to pay, then pray a prayer for their soul so they can leave purgatory and enter into the glory of heaven.
