There are times when we want to hang out with friends and party, but there are also times when we need to be serious. Throughout the school year, you will encounter many challenges, both internal and external. This module will help you learn how to deal with challenges so that you can finish strong as you finish school.Don’t be left out of the conversation as everyone talks about their time again, with these ministry-ready sermons. Back To School Sermons For Students
Introduction
The new school year is here! If you’re a student, it’s time to start packing up the summer fun and getting back into your studies. It’s not always easy to put one season to bed while welcoming another. As you look forward and prepare for the coming year, here are some sermons that will help encourage you as you get ready to go back to school.
Sermon: Back to you
It is your time to shine.
This is the moment you have been waiting for. You have worked hard, studied hard, and now you are ready for the best decisions of your life. The time has come for you to be who God created you to be and do what He has called you to do. Remember: if it’s worth doing, then it’s worth doing right!
You must be thankful for all that has helped make this day possible—your friends, family members and teachers are all a part of this journey with you; they’ve supported and encouraged you along the way (and they will continue to do so). So appreciate them while they are here—because life goes by quickly!
Be thankful also for those who taught us how important being appreciative is: Jesus Christ was always full of gratitude toward God His Father; Moses wrote about how grateful he felt when he saw God’s hand deliver his people; David said that thanksgiving should fill our hearts daily because it brings great joy (Psalm 100:4). These examples show us that being thankful isn’t just something we should feel at Thanksgiving dinner—it should be something we feel every single day!
Sermon: Back to the basics
All of these environments are fertile ground for learning the basics. The classroom is a place where we learn the basics of writing and reading, mathematics and science. We learn that there is a right way to write an essay and a wrong way; that 2+2 always equals 4; that gravity keeps us on the ground. The home is where we learn how to be polite to other people, how to respect our elders and how to treat others with dignity and respect regardless of their background or status in life. The workplace teaches us about time management skills and how to accomplish tasks efficiently—the basics of getting things done! Finally, in our communities and world at large, we see people working hard every day just so they can provide for themselves or their family members—learning those basic skills needed for survival!
Sermon: Looking forward without forgetting the past
You’re probably thinking, “How is this relevant to my life? I’m a student!” Well, the truth is that no matter what you do in life, you will always be a student. You may not realize it now, but there are lessons from your past that can help you make better decisions in the future. To put it another way: if we forget our pasts and only look forward to our futures without learning from our past experiences then we’ll never be able to live as fulfilled people!
I’m sure many of us have heard this idea before; however, I’d also like to challenge all of us today by sharing some examples from scripture about how remembering our pasts can help us learn new things about ourselves and others (and even God).
Sermon: Going forward in faith
Faith is a virtue. It is a gift from God. It is a way of life. Faith is not just something you have when you are in church, but also something you live out each day as you go about your daily activities.
Faith is not just believing that Christ died for our sins and rose again on the third day, but also living like it. Faith means getting up every morning and choosing to trust in God’s plan for me regardless of how well things are going or how difficult they might seem at the moment.
Faith means trusting that He loves me deeply and personally; knowing that He has plans for me; knowing He cares about my future even though I don’t always understand what those plans look like at this present time in my life! Faith allows us to keep moving forward even when it seems impossible because we know His power will take care of everything else!
Students can find encouragement to look forward to the new school year.
As you know, students tend to dread the start of the school year. The excitement and anticipation of summer break quickly turns into a season of dread as they realize that they’re going to be spending another nine months in their classrooms. However, this doesn’t have to be the case! There are ways that students can look forward to returning to school, which will help them have a much better time this fall when they’re back in class.
To start looking forward instead of dreading your return trip back to campus, consider these tips:
- Plan ahead so that you don’t have too much work on your plate right away. You’ll want time for yourself before classes start so that you can relax after all those long hours spent studying or working at home during vacation time!
- Look for new friends who share similar interests as yours (and also don’t mind spending lots of time together!) This way everyone feels included during class discussions without being bored outta their minds from hearing about stuff no one cares about except maybe professors? Don’t ask me how I know this…
Conclusion
Students, don’t let the school year get you down. You are capable of great things, and God is with you every step of the way! We hope that these sermons have given you confidence to be excited about what lies ahead in your studies and your life. As long as you keep Christ at the center of whatever you do, then He will guide your steps towards a future full of success and meaning.
