The Children’s Bible in 365 Stories

A great way to introduce your kids or grandkids to the stories of the Bible is by reading a story a day. My favorite book, The Children’s Bible in 365 Stories by Mary Batchelor, contains 365 stories that are each accompanied by an illustration. Each story is written in a way that is easy for children to understand and read themselves. There is also an index at the beginning of the book where you can quickly find stories about certain events or people mentioned in other parts of Scripture.

I think this book would make a great gift for anyone who wants to learn more about God’s Word without getting bogged down by studying complicated theology–which can be attractive but intimidating!

  • Print out this template for each book in the Bible, with a verse or two on one side and some questions on the other side.
  • If your church sings traditional hymns at Sunday service, then doing so gives kids an opportunity to learn about what they’re singing about. You can also use these printouts to create your own songbook with lyrics from each of these books!
  • Asking questions is an important skill that children need help developing—not just during religious lessons but at all times! This activity allows children to practice answering questions about scripture without having direct access (yet)
