A Prayer to the Holy Spirit – Help Us Lord to Serve You With Your Gifts and Your Love: a blog about how you can understand how love and gifts are important for each other.
O Holy Spirit, giver of light and fire, who dost inflame us with the desire of all good things, grant me the grace to live according to Thy will.
Grant me the grace to be in charity with all men; to love God and my neighbor above myself; to forgive all injuries; to bear all ills with patience and resignation.
Grant me the grace to love Thee above all things and serve Thee faithfully in this life. Grant me the grace of a happy death. Amen.
The Holy Spirit, who is the Divine Love that inspired the Son of God to become man, is present and active in the Church through the sacraments.
Through this prayer, we ask the Holy Spirit to illuminate our hearts and minds with his grace. We ask him to strengthen our faith and hope in Jesus Christ, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary.
We ask for the grace of wisdom so that we may know how best to serve God’s people; for divine courage so that we may overcome all obstacles on behalf of Christ; for patience so that we may endure trials patiently; for purity of heart so that we can be free from sin; and for love so that we may grow in God’s love.
“O Holy Spirit, Who didst fill Jesus at the Baptism of John, and didst adorn him with the gifts of the Holy Church: pour forth thy power upon us, that we may ever live according to thy will. Amen.”
Dear Holy Spirit,
Come and fill my heart with love and peace.
Come and make me a vessel of your blessing.
Come and purify my mind, my will, my emotions.
Come and glorify your name in me.
Lord, I am not worthy that Thou shouldst come under my roof. But speak the word only, and my servant will be healed.
For I also am a man set under authority, having under me soldiers, and I say to this man, “Go,” and he goes; and to another, “Come,” and he comes; and to my servant, “Do this,” and he does it.
When Jesus heard this He marveled at him, and turning to the crowd following Him, He said: I say to you, not even in Israel have I found such great faith.
