Praise As A Weapon of Warfare Scripture
Praise and worship—done in spirit and truth—create a protective wall around your heart. The Bible says you overcome the enemy by your blood and the “word of your testimony.” Praise and worship are words of your testimony—your testimony of who God is and who you are in Him.
PRAISE is a weapon. Praise confuses the enemy. In the Bible there are various examples of how praise was used in battles to help secure victories. Worship and praise break the oppression of the enemy. Praise is a weapon that we should use to help us to win spiritual battles and further God’s kingdom.
PRAISE comes from the Latin word “pretium”, meaning price. Prize is a variation of this word. Originally, it meant “to set a great price on”. So when we praise God, we are placing a great value on Him and His acts. Praise is a great weapon for spiritual warfare.
God sees us as His “treasured possession”
“For you are a people holy to the LORD your God. The LORD your God has chosen you out of all the peoples on the face of the earth to be his people, his treasured possession.” – Deuteronomy 7:6
“Now if you obey me fully and keep my covenant, then out of all nations you will be my treasured possession.” – Exodus 19:5

Winning The Battle Through Praise
PRAISING GOD IS COMMUNICATING WHO GOD IS, WHAT HE HAS DONE, AND WHAT HE CAN DO. PRAISE IS A WEAPON AGAINST EVIL & THE ENEMIES OF GOD
1. PRAISE HONORS GOD
In Luke 11 Jesus taught us to begin prayer with praise in order to honor and glorify God. Psalm 29:1-2 tells us to give God the glory that is due Him. Praise helps us to focus on God, and who He is, and His greatness.
“And He said to them, “When you pray, say: ‘Father, hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come.” – Luke 11:2
“Ascribe to the LORD, O sons of the mighty. Ascribe to the LORD glory and strength. Ascribe to the LORD the glory due to His name; worship the LORD in holy array.” Psalm 29:1–2
2. PRAISE HELPS US FOCUS ON GOD
Psalm 22:3 says that God inhabits the praises of His people. As we praise Him we raise up a throne or structure for Him to fill (2 Chronicles 5:13). Praise sensitizes us to God’s presence and helps us take our focus off of ourselves and onto Him.
“But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.” Psalm 22:3

In Acts 16:25-26 Paul and Silas praised God and the doors in the prison they were in were opened and they escaped. Praise lifts us out of oppression, and praising God also helps us out of our self-centered ways.

5. PRAISE CONFUSES THE ENEMY & FORCES OF EVIL

Praise helps us to focus on God and realize our need for Him, and thus turn the battle over to Him. When we do this, God will then bring Victory. We seen Him as gentle father loving but there is another side to Jesus Christ, He is a mighty man of war.
PRAISE AS A SPIRITUAL WEAPON
2 Chron. 20:1
It happened after this that the people of Moab with the people of Ammon, and others with them besides the Ammonites, came to battle against Jehoshaphat.
2 Chron. 20:15 And he said, “Listen, all you of Judah and you inhabitants of Jerusalem, and you, King Jehoshaphat! Thus says the Lord to you: ’Do not be afraid nor dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God’s.
2 Chron. 20:17 You will not need to fight in this battle. Position yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the Lord, who is with you, O Judah and Jerusalem!’ Do not fear or be dismayed; tomorrow go out against them, for the Lord is with you.”
2 Chron. 20:21-25 And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed those who should sing to the Lord, and who should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army and were saying:
“Praise the Lord, For His mercy endures forever.”
[22] Now when they began to sing and to praise, the Lord set ambushes against the people of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah; and they were defeated. [23] For the people of Ammon and Moab stood up against the inhabitants of Mount Seir to utterly kill and destroy them. And when they had made an end of the inhabitants of Seir, they helped to destroy one another. [24] So when Judah came to a place overlooking the wilderness, they looked toward the multitude; and there were their dead bodies, fallen on the earth. No one had escaped. [25] When Jehoshaphat and his people came to take away their spoil, they found among them an abundance of valuables on the dead bodies, and precious jewelry, which they stripped off for themselves, more than they could carry away; and they were three days gathering the spoil because there was so much.
Spiritual Implication:
Praise lifts your eyes from the battle to the victory, for Christ is already Victor, and you have the Victor in your heart that you might have His victory in your life. It is interesting to see that the opposite of praise to blame. Could it be when we don’t praise Him we are angry with God and blaming Him for a situation in our life
Have you ever noticed the way God multiplies your faith when you begin praising Him? There are times when it is more important to praise God than to pray to Him a prayer of intercession. Praise lifts your eyes from your circumstances to your almighty Father who is Ruler over all. Not one circumstance in |Your life can come without His permission, and that means that He has a way of causing it to work together with other things for His glory and your good.
Praise lifts your eyes from the battle to the victory. For Christ is already Victor, and though we do not yet see all things under His feet, they are there in a divine reality (Heb. 2:8; Eph. 1:22).
When you need faith there are two steps to take; go to God’s Word, and begin praising Him.
These two go together as naturally as hydrogen and oxygen together make water. Stop worrying, fearing; try praising. Do you need faith? Praise the Lord!
Praise in warfare is not telling God what to do, but rather when we believing that he knows what the best possible means to win the battle. We are not focusing on the enemy or the warfare but we are transferring the battle into a mighty man of war. And the victory is a sure thing.
The Weapon of Praise Sermon
Praise and worship are a powerful tool in spiritual warfare. Praise and worship are powerful because of the way that they connect us to the power of God, but there is also another reason why praise and worship are a key part of spiritual warfare: they allow us to see the enemy for who he really is.
When we engage in praise and worship, we open up our hearts and minds to God. We let him in, and we encourage him to fill us with his love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23). This creates an environment where God can move through us as we engage in praise and worship.
This means that when you engage in praise and worship for your enemies—whether that’s someone who has hurt you or someone who has wronged you—you’re creating an environment where God can work through you to bring about change. You’re inviting God into this situation so that He can bring about healing and restoration. Praise doesn’t just affect those who do good things; it affects everyone!
