Opening Prayer For Bible Study Group

If someone wants to start a bible study group, they can’t just jump right in and begin. They need a little guidance and help. Just think of all the things they will have to organize. All the places people will be coming from and going to. All the things that people will have to prepare before and stay for afterwards. There are many things to consider in order for the bible study group to go smoothly and without a hitch.

Father God, thank you for answering our prayers and bringing us together here tonight. We pray that you would be pleased with us. Uphold us with your gracious hand and make us to be a blessing to others. Father, we pray that you would make your word known to us and bless our study of your word this evening as we are open and open minded as we listen; ever open to comments and answerings of prayer. Amen

Dear Lord, we thank you for the ability to spend another week together. We thank you for the knowledge that we’ve gained through our studies. This gives us hope for the future and that we’ll continue to learn from each other and grow in your love. Give us a spirit of openness as we hear from each other today, so that we can share freely…

Dear Lord, I pray for your guidance as I lead this Bible study. Help me to listen to everyone, include everyone, and direct the study well. I want each person to grow closer to you through this study. I ask these things in the name of Jesus, Amen.

Dear Lord, we come to you today in the name of Jesus Christ. Thank you for your presence in our lives and for your guidance through this study group.

We pray for open hearts, open minds and an open Bible. We ask that you would guide us as we seek to learn more about the life of Jesus Christ, who is our Savior and Lord.

Lord, we pray that you would bless these people who have come together today from different parts of town and from different walks of life. May they experience your love and grace through one another as they share their insights and struggles with each other.

Lord, we pray that you would use this time together to strengthen our relationships with each other so that we may be empowered to serve others in love and truth. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen

Dear Lord, we come before you today to ask for your guidance and wisdom. We pray that you will guide our study of your word and help us to understand it in a deeper way. We pray for our group members, that the information we learn together will be used to strengthen our relationships and deepen our sense of community. Opening Prayer For Prayer Meeting

Dear God, we come before you today to ask for your help and guidance. Thank you for all things; we praise you and give thanks for the blessing of this study group. Thank you for bringing us together as we open our hearts and minds to learn more about what is in the Word of God. We pray that each time we meet, something will be revealed to us. We pray that if any question should arise, that it would be answered by Your Holy Spirit so that we may understand more fully what You have told us through Your Son Jesus Christ our Savior!

Heavenly Father, we come to you in the name of your Son and our Savior Jesus Christ. Father, thank you for your word and all that you have done for us. Open our hearts to receive instruction this day. Give us wisdom, knowledge and understanding to grow as Christians. We thank you and praise you for all things. In the name of Jesus Christ we pray. Amen.

As you greet your group, ask them to pray. It is a good idea to have everyone stand up and hold hands during the prayer. If any members of your group are not Christian, it is perfectly fine for them to remain seated during this particular prayer.

You would say something like “Everyone please stand so we can pray together.” At this point, you can either repeat the prayer above or use another one that fits with what you are trying to accomplish in your study time together.
