Wiseman is a term used by some Christians to refer to a person who is wise. The term appears in the Bible in both the Old and New Testaments.
In the Old Testament, Wiseman is mentioned in 1 Kings 3:11 and 2 Chronicles 9:14. In these passages, Wiseman refers to an unnamed man who was given a vision by God that he would be given another vision by God. The other vision came true—Wiseman became king of Judah and built the Temple in Jerusalem.
In the New Testament, Wiseman is mentioned in Acts 13:1-3 and 26:2-4 as well as Matthew 2:1-18. In these passages, Wiseman refers to an unnamed Egyptian who helped save Jesus from King Herod’s attempt on Jesus’ life.
