What Is Repentance?

Repentance is a change of mind, heart, and life. It involves a turning from your sin and turning toward God. It involves a desire to be forgiven by God and to live in obedience to him.

Jesus said in Mark 1:15, “Repent and believe the good news.” He said that repentance is the first step toward salvation (Matthew 4:17).

The Bible tells us that we need to repent of our sins if we want God to forgive us (Acts 3:19; 4:12; 5:31; 2 Corinthians 7:10). When we repent, we acknowledge our sins and turn away from them. We turn away from the things that have separated us from God and toward things that will bring us closer to him (Romans 12:1-2).

About What Is Repentance

It’s time to get serious about what you’re doing with your life.

Repentance is a serious matter, and it should be taken seriously by anyone who wants to live a fulfilling life. It’s not enough to just make amends—you need to change the way you act. You need to change the way you think. You need to change the way you treat others, and yourself. You need to change your ways for good.
