Heaven is a place where we will be free from the pain and suffering of this world. It’s a place where we can finally be with God, who loves us so much that he sent his one and only son to die for us so that we could live forever with him. It’s also a place where we will see our loved ones again—which is one of the most exciting things about heaven!
According to the Bible, heaven is going to be amazing! There will be no more tears or sadness; only joy and peace. The streets are made of gold, and there will be no more pain or hunger. There will be no need for sleep because we’ll never get tired or bored. We’ll have perfect bodies, but even better than these physical blessings are the spiritual ones: we’ll have perfect knowledge of God’s presence; no sin; no fear or anxiety; perfect love—and all of it through Jesus Christ!.
What Will Heaven Look Like According To The Bible
Introduction
The Bible contains a lot of information about heaven, including what it will be like, where it will be, who will be there and what we will do. The Bible also reveals that God wants as many people as possible to spend eternity in heaven with Him. But how can we get there?

What will heaven be like
Heaven will be a place of perfect peace. It’s hard for us to imagine this because we live in a world full of war, terrorism and fear. But if you’ve ever experienced the peace that comes from trusting in God, you know exactly what I’m talking about. And if you’ve never experienced such peace, then just wait! Heaven will be your chance to finally have it forever—all because of Jesus Christ!
In heaven there will also be perfect love—the kind that overflows from the heart of God himself (1 John 4:16). This love is so strong and powerful that it can change your whole life when you experience it on earth through Jesus Christ (Romans 5:5). You may already feel this kind of love right now if you belong to God’s family (1 John 3:1-3), but imagine experiencing more and more precious moments like these throughout eternity without any fear or pain or suffering getting in the way!
Heaven will also be filled with joy beyond imagining (Philippians 1:20). Just think about how awesome it would be to spend eternity with all those people who mean so much to us now…and never having to say goodbye again! How amazing would it feel not having any worries or fears at all?

We Will Be Like The Angels
The Bible teaches that we will be like the angels. We will have wings and fly. We will be able to see God face to face, as well as our family members who have died and are in heaven.
Many of us want to know more about what heaven is going to be like. What will it look like? How can we describe it? No one has been there yet so we don’t really know except for what Jesus said in Revelation 21:1-2 “Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea…and I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem…” Obviously this means something very different than what was here on Earth before Jesus came down from Heaven with His angels!
Let’s take a closer look at these verses now so that you can see how amazing this place really is going to be!

A New Heaven and a New Earth
While we don’t know exactly what heaven will be like, the Bible tells us enough to get a pretty good idea of what it will be like. For example, it says that heaven will have no more night (Revelation 21:23) and that God’s people will reign with Christ for eternity (Revelation 5:10). These things give us clues about how our eternal future might look.
In other words, when you think about what heaven is like, picture a place where there is no more sadness or suffering; there are only beauty and joy! In this perfect place of peace, love, joy and restfulness—you’re free from sin and all its consequences forever!

The New Jerusalem
The New Jerusalem is a literal city that will descend from heaven and be built on the earth. It will be inhabited by those who have been resurrected and judged righteous, as well as human beings who were never born (the saved dead).
It’s described as being incredibly beautiful, full of jewels and light:
“The walls of the city had twelve foundations, and on them were twelve names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb” (Revelation 21:14). This means that each one of us has a permanent place in this glorious city! It also says there’ll be no more tears or death—free at last!

Streets of Gold
Gold is a symbol of purity and perfection. The Bible uses it throughout to represent God’s holiness and His glory. In the book of Revelation, John describes heaven as having streets made of gold (Revelation 21:21). This means that heaven will be perfect, because gold is something that does not tarnish or decay over time. It also suggests that we will have access to everything we need in heaven—gold being one example!

Gates of Pearl And Foundations Of Jewels
You’ll be surprised to learn that the gates of pearl and foundations of jewels are two separate things. They don’t even have anything to do with each other! But they do describe the city, which just happens to be where God lives. So let’s break it down:
- The Gates Of Pearl: These are the gates leading into the New Jerusalem, which is heaven. That means its walls must be covered in pearl since Jesus said that pearls were what made up His bride (Revelation 21:21).
- The Foundations Of Jewels: These are all about the foundation for this new heaven on earth where God will live with us forever after we die and go there.

A River of Life-Giving Water
The river of life-giving water is a metaphor for the Holy Spirit. The Bible states that God is a Spirit (John 4:24) and that when we become Christians, God gives us the Holy Spirit. The water of life which flows from the throne of God speaks about His Holy Spirit dwelling within us (Revelation 22:17).
The Holy Spirit lives in us, making us new people who will never be thirsty again because He provides all our needs according to His riches in Glory by Christ Jesus our Lord!

Tree of Life
The Tree of Life is a symbol of eternal life. If you have the tree, you can eat from it and never die. If you don’t have it, then you can never eat from it. That’s why Jesus said that those who don’t believe in him won’t be able to see or enter into the kingdom of heaven (Rev 22:14).
The Tree of Life doesn’t exist in heaven because God says there are no trees there anymore (Isaiah 65:21). It’s not for any other reason than that he doesn’t want them there anymore. In fact, if we were to find one growing on earth today, God would probably destroy it because he hates everything else he made except for man (Genesis 6:5-7).
The fruit on this tree looks like an orange with white seeds inside and tastes like meatloaf with gravy on top when cooked correctly by someone who knows how to make meatloaf properly (Exodus 32:10-11; Ezekiel 40:23-24).

The Bible tells us many things about heaven. For example, it says that heaven is a place where we can live with God forever and have no more pain, sorrow or death. The Bible also tells us that our bodies will be made perfect in heaven so that they are like Jesus’ body (1 Corinthians 15:49).
We know from the Bible that there will be no more sea in heaven because it will all be part of the new earth (Revelation 21:1). We also know from the Bible that there will be no sun or moon in heaven because they have been replaced by the glory of God (Revelation 21:23).
There are many other things about life after death which we learn from studying what’s written in both testaments, but these are some of the main highlights.
Conclusion
We believe heaven will be a place beyond human imagination, filled with beauty and joy. The Apostle John described it as “a new heaven and a new earth” (Revelation 21:1). Jesus said that only God the Father knows when that time will come, but we can be sure of one thing—heaven is real; it exists. When Jesus died on the cross and rose from the dead, he conquered death so that we might have eternal life (John 3:16).
