Our Lady of Guadalupe Prayer in Spanish: A blog to educate and inform readers about Our Lady of Guadalupe prayer, what it means, and how to perform it.
Our Lady of Guadalupe
Virgin Mother, Queen of Heaven and Earth, we are children of the Americas. We come to you with a faith that is lived in the heart. Help us to know where our roots are and where we are going. Help us to know how to live our faith and how to share it with others. Help us to see you in each other, and help us to love one another as you have loved us.
We ask these things through Christ Our Lord. Amen!
Oh, most holy Virgin of Guadalupe,
look upon your people and hear their cry.
Nuestra Senora De Guadalupe Prayer
We are a wounded people; we have been wounded by our own mistakes and the sins of others. We are a sinful people; we have forsaken our God and strayed from His teachings. We are an afflicted people; we suffer from the injustice that surrounds us and the violence that fills our streets.
Yet even in this, you have not abandoned us. You have chosen to remain with us through all of our struggles, offering us your grace and mercy as we continue to seek out what is good in this world. And now you call on us to come to you once more—to come before you with our prayers and pleadings, so that together we may bring about healing for ourselves and for those who need it most urgently.
It is time for us to repent; it is time for us to return; it is time for us to be renewed by your grace and love once again.
Oh, Holy Virgin of Guadalupe.
We venerate your image, which was given to us as a sign of your protection and love.
We adore you, Mother of God and Mother of the Mexican people.
We entrust ourselves to your care and implore you to intercede for us with your son Jesus Christ our Lord.
Hail Mary, full of grace.
Our Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of death. Amen.
Oh, most Holy Virgin of Guadalupe, you have come to us as a mother and you invite us to be your children. You want us to live in the midst of our people, and you promise to accompany us on our journey.
We ask you to bless our country with peace and prosperity. We ask you to make it a land of opportunities for all who live in it. Enable all its inhabitants to freely choose their destiny without fear or violence.
In turn, we promise to work for the good of all, especially the poor and needy. We will strive for justice and solidarity so that every person may enjoy their basic human rights.
We also ask that you give us courage: courage to overcome our fears; courage not only in facing trials but also in confronting them with faith; courage to resist evil when necessary; courage to serve others; courage to forgive; and most importantly, courage to love God above all things!
