st andrew christmas novena prayer to obtain favors

The Lord has granted me the grace to gather here today to pray for the intercession of St. Andrew the Apostle, first called by Jesus Christ to follow Him.

St. Andrew was one of the first disciples to leave everything behind and follow Jesus. He brought his brother Peter, who would later become the leader of the Apostles and head of the Church, to meet Jesus for the first time.

St. Andrew was also one of the first apostles to be martyred for his faith in Jesus Christ, when he was crucified on an X-shaped cross at Patras in Greece in 63 A.D., along with his two brothers: Sts. Peter and John.

The Church honors St. Andrew as a powerful intercessor before God who can obtain favors for those who ask him for help with their problems, especially when they are difficult or impossible to solve otherwise. For this reason I ask you all now to join me in praying this novena prayer that has been attributed to St. Andrew himself:

Dear St. Andrew, please pray for me. I am a good person who is trying to do the right thing. I need your help in obtaining a favor from God. Please pray that my request is granted, and that I will be given what I want. Thank you St. Andrew!

St. Andrew, Apostle of Jesus Christ and Martyr, who was crucified on a cross and beheaded by the command of Herod.

We salute you. We invoke your powerful intercession in our favor. We pray for your help and protection at all times.

O most glorious apostle, we beseech you to obtain for us from God this special favor: (mention your request).

In return for your intercession we promise to offer you our prayers, good works and Masses; to have devotion to you; and to spread devotion to you among others. Amen!

O Eternal Father, who didst create all things to Thine honor and glory, by the intercession of St. Andrew, grant us the grace of a happy death. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, Thy Son, who liveth and reigneth with Thee in the unity of the Holy Ghost, God forever and ever. Amen.

O Lord Jesus Christ, who didst rise from the dead and ascend into heaven, come to my aid. O Lord Jesus Christ, who didst rise from the dead and ascend into heaven, come to my aid. O Lord Jesus Christ, who didst rise from the dead and ascend into heaven, come to my aid. O Lord Jesus Christ, who didst rise from the dead and ascend into heaven, come to my aid. O Lord Jesus Christ, who didst rise from the dead and ascend into heaven, come to my aid. O Lord Jesus Christ, who didst rise from the dead and ascend into heaven, come to my aid. O Lord Jesus Christ, who didst rise from the dead and ascend into heaven, come to my aid.

st andrew novena miracles

One of my favorite devotions, The Saint Andrew Novena, begins tomorrow (November 30)! It is piously believed that whoever recites this prayer fifteen times a day from the Feast of Saint Andrew (Nov 30) until Christmas will obtain what is asked. Does this mean that God will give you anything, even something that may be harmful to you spiritually? Fortunately, no! However, I have received miraculous favors since I started praying this novena a few years ago and I believe in its power.

Here?s EWTN?s Fr. Joseph Mary speaking about his personal experience with the St. Andrew Novena:

Here is the novena prayer:

Hail and blessed be the hour and moment in which the Son of God was born of the most pure Virgin Mary, at midnight, in Bethlehem, in piercing cold. In that hour, vouchsafe, O my God! to hear my prayer and grant my desires, through the merits of Our Saviour Jesus Christ, and of His Blessed Mother. Amen.

We?ll be praying this novena every night until Christmas on my Following The Truth radio show. In addition to the spiritual benefits, it?s a GREAT way to reflect on the true meaning of Christmas. Why not give it a try?
