God, help me trust you with my decisions and future. Let me lean on you with all my heart instead of relying on my own imperfect understanding. Give me clear guidance in my life. I ask for your help to direct my path.
It is said that there are three essential ingredients to living a good life. Without them you will never reach your destination! The first is trust in yourself; the second is trust in God; the third is God’s work through our hands. If we have one of these elements we have built a good building block for our future. But if we lose one of them, then it can be difficult to get back together again and move forward with life.
If you have every found yourself asking the questions: How do I strengthen my faith in God? How do you walk in faith? You are in good company! So many of us find ourselves in places where we feel like the Father in Mark 9:24 who says: “I do believe, help me overcome my unbelief.”
This scripture hits most of us because we know what we believe and yet we still find ourselves in places where doubts co-exist in the midst of our big faith.
For many years I had no trouble believing the power of the resurrection. There was nothing that could cause me to waver in this faith, and yet, when it came to believing God could move in the little things in life. I did not have the same trust and belief. I knew that God COULD, but my doubt resided in the pace where I doubted he would because of some personal flaw on my part!
I want to encourage you that praying for faith in the spaces that you struggle does not make you weak. Prayer is meant to be a conversation with the Father and we are told in 1 Peter 5:7 that we should cast our cares on the Lord. That includes those thoughts and feelings of doubt. The desire for increased faith, and the spaces in life where we need God to move in our lives and we are believing BIG for his miraculous hand.

There are many scriptures that talk about faith, but what scriptures can we pray to God as his living breathing word into and over our lives? Well I like to start with the promises of God. These are the things that he said that he would do and be in our lives, and because the Lord can not lie, when you pray the scriptures and speak the power of his word using promises your faith is encouraged. Here are a few scriptures promises you can pray into the situations of life where you need renewed, or improved faith.
For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you. Isaiah 41:13

Praying for faith, should not be difficult. In fact, this should and can be the simplest prayer you pray. As simple as Father, Help! God does not look down on his children when they ask for faith, because in essence we are asking for more of him in our life. We are welcoming him to show up and grow our faith. A prayer for faith is a prayer seeking God, and we are told in scripture he dwells in the space where we seek him!

Lord I know that oftentimes the answer to problems comes from you through others. Help me to have a soft heart, give me grace, give grace to those who I come in contact with.
