Dear God,
We are grateful for the beauty of the spring season. We thank you for giving us the flowers, sunsets, and rainbows that we see all around us. We ask that you continue to bless our world with your presence and love.
We ask that you keep a special eye on those who are struggling in this time of change. Help them to remember that they are not alone, that there is always someone willing to help them through their struggles.
Dear God:
And Lord God, we pray that you will give us peace by endowing us with patience and understanding as we face the challenges of changing seasons. Give us strength when it comes to making decisions regarding what needs to be done in order to prepare ourselves for winter or springtime weather changes. Help us to develop habits that will help us stay healthy throughout these times of transition from one season into another—whether it’s through eating more vegetables or starting an exercise routine at home or going out for walks together as a family unit during lunch breaks from school/work schedules.”
Spring is a metaphor for change. Some changes we eagerly await, and some we abhor. Some changes we plan and others arrive uninvited. To all these changes we ask the gift of Your perspective beckoning us to expectation, hope, and rebirth.
May the sunlight and the rain be reminders that You are at work renewing the earth. As a God of renewal, You are ever at work in our lives, too.
Spring Blessing Prayer
Dear Father, thank you for Your continual renewal, refreshing, and restoration. I pray that this season will be one of growth in my life. Grow me just as You grow the flowers, vegetables and fruits of this season. In Jesus’ Holy name I pray, Amen.
Open our eyes and lives to the needed changes in our lives this Spring. Awaken us to new life and perspective, for we pray in Jesus’ name.
The continuity of our relationship with God is facilitated by our prayer life.
When we pray, we allow God to do His work in and through us because we are making ourselves vulnerable to Him. Praying also strengthens our connection to God.
We learn more about a person through conversation and interaction. The same process takes place when we talk to God in prayer. Spending more time in conversation with Him is the surest way to become closer to Him.
As it says in James 4:8, “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you” (NKJV).
Many times in my own life, I have experienced the peace that passes all understanding when I have drawn near to God in prayer.
Praying helps me center my thoughts on what’s most important. Praying gives us a divine perspective on life and is therefore crucial. A member of my youth group passed away suddenly. Finding effective ways to love and minister to our wounded students has been challenging. The power of prayer has sustained me through this difficult period. It has helped me communicate with God, hear His voice, and experience His presence while I grieve alongside my church and community.
Be worried about nothing, but in everything, through prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. (NKJV).
Praying puts us in a position to experience God’s peace, which is beyond our comprehension. Prayer keeps my mind on the things that are dear to God, both in the happy times and the bad.
Amen.
