God the Father,
To my mourning friend, I send my condolences. I pray that You will give her strength to get through this difficult time. We appreciate Your assurance that You will be with her every step of the way as she navigates the tunnel of grief. Allow her to feel the comfort of Your presence rather than the crushing despair of those who have given up hope.
Grant her discernment as she plans and executes the event, and the maturity to deal with any unforeseen challenges that may arise. Take care not to endanger her emotional wellbeing. I ask that the peace you give her would spread to those around her and help her remain calm even as the tensions around her rise.

We give You thanks for being the God of consolation, the One who has us in the palm of Your hand. Your Word promises that the end of death is near. However, I thank You now for comforting my friend and letting her sleep.
