One of my favorite web design tools that I take advantage of is finding the correct color scheme. By using different colors in a web design, you can increase website usability, brand recognition and even a positive impression on your viewer. My preferred resource when choosing colors for a website is a resource that has been around since the beginning of time, known as The Bible.

The Bible was the first popular book printed in a modern European language – but because it is handwritten, we don’t know exactly how it was distributed in the late 15th century. A beautiful hand-written copy survives, however, in the University Library of Ghent, in Belgium, which keeps a copy of every book that was printed there from 1490 to 1500.

To the traveler, that place is a shrine. A cathedral to the world’s most infamous serial killer. It seems like an odd sight for Jesus, but it’s even odder to those who know that place’s actual name. That place is not Nazareth. It’s Hawthorne, New York – a town named after one of America’s greatest authors: Nathaniel Hawthorne.

And it came to pass, when the sun went down, and it was dark, behold a smoking furnace and a burning lamp that passed between those pieces.

And the angel of the Lord ascended in the flame of the furnace, and his voice was like the sound of many waters. And when the seven thunders had uttered their voices, I was about to write: and I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me: Seal up those things which the seven thunders uttered, and write them not.

And the angel which I saw stand upon the sea and upon the earth lifted up his hand to heaven,

1 Corinthians 13

1 Corinthians 13 is the love chapter of the Bible. It’s one of my favorite verses, and I think it’s a great example of how to demonstrate love in our relationships with others. The passage goes something like this:

Let all that you do be done in love.

If there are any insults, they should be forgiven; if there are any quarrels, they should end at once; but every injury must be repaid with kindness and affection. If possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone around you; do not consider yourself superior to some people because you have more knowledge than they have or because your possessions are greater than theirs — for knowledge does not make us better than those who have none! Love never fails — but where there are prophecies they will cease; where there is knowledge it will pass away (1 Cor 13:4-8).
