Rising Love For Saint Lucy & Her Novena: A blog about how the Novena to Saint Lucy has been on the rise in popularity.
O most glorious and ever Virgin Saint Lucy, who was taken up in body into heaven while still alive, I humbly beg you to obtain for me from God the grace to persevere in His holy service, especially in my religious duties.
Obtain for me also the grace of a happy death, that when my last hour comes, I may be fortified by your intercession.
That having labored faithfully for Christ on earth, I may rejoice with you forever in the kingdom of heaven. Amen
Saint Lucy,
You were a model of humility and obedience. You were not afraid to speak the truth, even when it might cost you dearly. Your father was very wealthy but he was also very cruel. He would beat you for your faithfulness and for your love for God.
One day, he decided that he would kill you because of your faithfulness. He asked his servants to tie you up and throw you in a dungeon where there were many rats. The rats bit at your feet until they bled profusely. You cried out to God and prayed that the bites would not hurt or itch anymore so that you could remain faithful to Him in all things.
In answer to your prayer, Saint Lucy, we ask that we may be granted patience and perseverance as we continue our journey of faith on earth. We pray that we may learn humility from your example so that we may always put others before ourselves. We pray this through Christ our Lord…
Dear St. Lucy,
We come to you with our hearts full of love and gratitude for all that you have done for us. We come to ask for your help and protection in this time of need, when we are looking for a new place to live. Please pray for us and guide us as we search for a new home. Please also pray that we may be united as a family and that we may always be filled with happiness and love in our new home. Amen!
O sweet St. Lucy, you were a saint and a martyr. You were martyred for your faith in the fourth century. You are venerated as the patroness of the blind, and your name has been invoked for centuries to help people see again.
We pray to you now because we need your intercession. We need your help, St. Lucy, to see what is happening in our world today—the suffering caused by war, disease and natural disaster; the suffering that is born from ignorance or willful blindness.
We ask you to help us see clearly: to see all of our brothers and sisters as God sees them; to understand their problems and needs as God understands them; and to act with compassion in response to these needs as God acts with compassion in response to them.
We pray also that you will give us strength and courage to face this time in history with hope and faith, even when things seem darkest around us; that you will give us the eyes of faith so we can see beyond our own limited understanding into the greater truth of who we are as human beings created in God’s image and likeness (Genesis 1:26).
Amen!
O most beautiful flower of Carmel, fruitful vine, splendor of Heaven, Lucy, you have conquered.
Blessed Virgin, Mother of fair love, our way to Jesus is through you; do not despise my petitions, but in your mercy hear and answer me. Amen!
Dear Saint Lucy,
I come to you today because I need your help. I am in desperate need of a miracle and I believe that you are the one to provide it for me.
My name is [name], and I have been struggling with [issue] for a long time now. Please help me find a solution to this problem so that my life can be better.
Saint Lucy, who lost your eyesight to save your virginity, I pray that you look upon me with favor.
Please intercede on my behalf before God and ask Him to give me the strength to overcome any obstacles that stand in my way.
Please pray for me that I may have the courage to follow all of the teachings of Jesus Christ.
Saint Lucy, please pray for me so that I will be able to see clearly today, tomorrow and forevermore.
Dear Saint Lucy,
We ask your intercession in our lives. We pray that you may obtain for us the great grace of faith, hope, and charity. Please help us to learn to trust in God; help us to be faithful and not to abandon Him; help us to love Him with all our hearts.
Help us to be strong in the face of difficulties. Help us to accept trials with resignation and hope. And when we are tempted by discouragement or sadness, please give us the strength to resist and overcome them so that we will always be ready for whatever God asks of us.
Dear Saint Lucy, we ask you for your prayers for those who are suffering from any kind of illness or disease, especially for those who have no one else to pray for them…
Dear Saint Lucy,
we come to you today to ask for your help. We need your strength and guidance in our lives. We know that the world can sometimes be a difficult place, but we trust that with your help we can make it through.
Please guide us through these dark times and show us the way out. We need your guidance and strength in order to overcome this challenge. Please give us the wisdom to see what we have done wrong and make it right.
We ask that you also bless our loved ones who are going through similar hardships so that they may find peace as well. Let them know that you are there for them just like you were for us today!
In Jesus name, Amen
Dear Saint Lucy,
We ask for your intercession in this time of need. We are asking you to pray for us and guide us in our decisions. Please pray for the success of our family business, that we may be able to continue to provide for our families and pay off our debts. We know that you have a special love for children, so please pray for our children, who are afflicted with a rare genetic disease. We ask that you intercede on their behalf, so they may find a cure. We know that the world is full of suffering and pain, so please keep all those who suffer in mind as well.
Thank you again for all you do to help others, Saint Lucy.
