Being a man of God means that you are leading your family by allowing God to lead you.
You may not have realized this, but every decision you make is a decision to either lead or follow. If you’re making a decision without consulting God, then you’re following your own way and not His.
But when you consult God before making a decision, it’s a sign that you’re leading your family. You’re saying “I’m going to do this because God told me to.”
When your wife asks what she should make for dinner, do you say: “Whatever you want”? Or do you say “I don’t know—what did God tell us?”
Man of God: Leading Your Family by Allowing God to Lead You
It sounds silly, but if we listen to God instead of getting caught up in our own plans and desires, we’ll be able to guide our families to the best possible outcome every time.
When you’re the leader of your family, it’s easy to feel like you have to be in control—that if things aren’t going well, it’s because you’ve failed to make the right decisions. But God doesn’t want us to lead by force; he wants us to allow him to lead us. That way, we can put our trust in him and know that whatever happens is for the best. It might seem scary at first, but once you get into the habit of letting go, it’ll be easier than ever before!
