WE CALL OURSELVES EPIC
We are a church for people who don’t do church. Whether you believe what we do or not, no matter your religious background or lack thereof, we want this to be a safe place for you to explore the teachings of Jesus. It also means we are more interested in being the church in our community than just attending church.
Epic Church was launched in 2009 by our lead pastor and his wife, Trent and Tammy Schake. Their goal was to provide a safe place for those searching for answers to ask questions and engage God. Today our purpose is the same – we’re still trying our best not to DO church, but BE the church in our community.
What to expect on your first visit to Epic
If you have never visited us before, here are some things you can expect from us:
Friendly People
Our greeters love meeting people, that’s why they’re greeters! Let them know it’s your first time visiting Epic and they’ll be thrilled to show you around.
Casual Atmosphere
You matter to God and you matter to us. You know what doesn’t matter to us? What you’re wearing. Come in jeans, or shorts, or whatever is comfortable, and sit wherever you’d like! We won’t ask you to stand up or say anything, and we never expect guests to contribute anything financially.
A Fun, Safe Environment For The Kids
Kids love being a part of Epic! If you bring your children, you’ll check them in each Sunday at one of our check-in stations. Our security volunteers monitor the halls and outside property during services. Babies and toddlers are cared for by loving volunteers. We have age-appropriate lessons for children ages 2 years – grade 5 during all of our Sunday morning services, a middle school ministry for grades 6 – 8 during the 10:30 am service, and a high school ministry for grades 9 – 12 on Sunday evenings at 6pm. Peace of mind: All of our children and student ministry volunteers must pass a state and federal background check, as well as go through a multi-step interview process.
An Engaging Sunday Morning Experience
We believe the Bible should be applied to our everyday lives, so our goal is to teach how to live the Bible – not just know what it says. Our music is current, lively, and includes guitars, keyboards, and drums. We project the song lyrics so that you can sing along and engage God through the music. All in all, we’ll spend about an hour together.
