Many people, small and great, are considered of no significance or importance. This can happen for various reasons, such as abuse in childhood, a dysfunctional family, or simply having low self-esteem. However, it is important to speak up about your feelings and thoughts when you are in an abusive relationship.
If you want to be heard, and if you want your message to be remembered, you’re going to have to speak up. You can’t wait for someone else to say what needs to be said or do what needs to be done. Speak up means taking the initiative. It means not being afraid or overwhelmed by opposition or criticism. Most of us believe in turn-taking when it comes to speaking at dinner parties, however sometimes we need to take the initiative and stand up for what is right even if others disagree with us.
Speak up and tell your story! Everyone has a unique perspective on life, but it’s easier to speak the truth when you know God is there to hold your heart, care for your soul, keep you safe and guide you. The Bible is full of stories about how God called people to tell others about their faith in him. Get inspired by some of our favorite Bible verses about speaking up and sharing the message of hope.
