Nate Wright’s Blog Introduction: On this blog, you will find all the essential resources to help serve in children’s ministry. Whether you’re a new volunteer or seasoned veteran, Nate Wright, author of the best-selling book The Volunteer Leader’s Handbook, will guide you through best practices when it comes to serving with kids and teens. Early childhood ministry is an incredible opportunity to live out the gospel and bring glory to God. This book will help you develop a gospel-centered approach to serving in children’s ministry. It contains specific ways to teach and engage with children, but it is also designed to develop your heart. The last thing you want as a leader of young people is for them to be a higher priority than your relationship with Jesus Christ.
Serving in a children’s ministry can be difficult. Children are often impulsive, distracted, and can be hard to manage. At times it may feel like you are doing an impossible job. It is important to remember that you are not doing the work alone. God is always with you, and he has a plan for your ministry. I believe every child should have an opportunity to grow in their relationship with God. As a children’s ministry volunteer, I am called to help equip the children in our life and lead them into a deeper relationship with Jesus. I know many of you have questions about how telling Bible stories, singing songs and leading Bible time fits into the church experience. I hope this blog can help answer some of those questions.
