The Power Of Prayer Sermon

Prayer and Its Effects – A Discourse

A believer’s perspective and sense of identity as a child of God are both shaped by an understanding of the efficacy of prayer. When used by a devout individual, prayer becomes an extremely effective weapon. However, if the carrier is in the dark about what he is supposed to carry, he will never appreciate what is handed to him.

As a matter of fact, no amount of ammunition in an AK-47 will cause it to fire unless the carrier pulls the trigger. Some of the believers I’ve met are also unintentional gun owners. So, they unconsciously or involuntarily put their finger on the trigger. It’s also happened to me that some people have this ability but never do anything with it.

Everyone who professes to believe has the right to pray, and that much is undeniable. You and I both have permission to use it. It’s all about timing and application. Why it helps some people while not helping others depends on a number of factors.

We’ve been talking about the efficacy of prayer, but I feel obligated to point out that some people say empty words. Yes. The power of prayer cannot be overstated.

There are, however, methods by which we fail to achieve our goal. It’s eerily similar to the miraculous rod of Moses. Unfortunately, the same rod can also be used to extract sour water if care is not taken. “Ye ask and do not receive, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts,” James 4:3 says.

Below are the three stages of prayer:

Extempore

This is the prayer that you have been taught or learned. It works perfectly fine; there is no problem with it. This is the first prayer the kids say. When we first become Christians, we pray like this.

Reading the Bible as prayer

Reminding God of His own promises and words is what I mean by “taking back his words.” This is not a prayer that can be prayed by a novice. Such a prayer requires familiarity with the Bible’s teachings on the subject.
Here, we study the Bible and either pray as we go or at the end of each session. This is an extremely potent level. Right here is where we’re holding God hostage. In light of the verse in Scripture that reads, “remind me of my promises and see if I will not fulfill them,” we can safely assume that God will keep his word.

This is one possible format for a prayer of thanks; Psalm 65: 1 God, praise is waiting for you in Sion; the oath will be fulfilled to you.
Psalm 92:3 On the ten-stringed instrument and the psaltery, with the dirgelike sound of the harp. ” The Lord, how awesome are your deeds! You epitomize Israel’s greatness. You have the position of “first and last” in Revelation 2:8. You are the double-edged sword, as mentioned in verse 12. One who is holy and true, you hold the key of David; whichever door you unlock, no one will be able to close. Revelation 3:7

Do not think that you are simply praising God here; rather, you are reminding Him of His own identity as stated in His own Word. This practice is known as “biblical prayer.”

For example, “He bore our sicknesses on the cross and made an open sham of them” (or something similar) could be a fitting prayer for healing. And he said, “It is finished,” from the cross. So there you have it, Diabetes: game over. What are you doing in this body if you’ve already been diagnosed with typhoid, cancer, migraines, arthritis, or HIV? On the cross, you have already triumphed over your enemies. And with that, Jesus, I’m done.

Prayer and Its Effects – A Discourse

Adoration Prayer

The prayer at this level is unparalleled. However, it’s easy for us to overlook or forget about. They fail to recognize that the power of praise is in the praise, so they neglect praise and worship in their prayer.

In Daniel 10:11–14, the prophet Daniel prays to the God of the Hebrews. To answer Daniel’s prayer, God sent an angel to earth, but the messenger was intercepted. After the Prince of Persia captured the Angel from Heaven, they held him captive for seven days.

What does that imply, if anything, for you? For seven days, Daniel had been praying the same prayer and expecting answers. But the truth is that he did receive the answers he prayed for. An angel had them in his care, but even he needed help from Michael the Archangel to defeat the Prince of Persia.

If God wants, He can dispatch an Angel to accept prayers on His behalf, but He never sends a messenger to be showered with praise. If Daniel had done as David and praised the Almighty God with music, what might have happened? And what if God Himself uprooted and headed for Babylon? Who could expect the Prince of Persia to face if not the king of glory?

When we worship, God gets up off His throne. Everything shifts the moment he lands to sing His praises. Praise-filled prayers are effective.

The effectiveness of your prayers largely depends on your approach to praying. In this article, I will describe the five types of ineffective prayers. Is it possible that we fall into the “nay” camp? If so, let’s take a good, hard look at ourselves and try to make things right while it’s still early.
