The issue of why so many people have come to accept what must be a false interpretation of the Bible is an intriguing one. Despite my shock at the events, I had to accept the possibility that the churchgoers here—at least the ones who had given their approval—lacked even the most basic understanding of the Bible.
False teaching is a major obstacle to a good relationship with God, and that may seem harsh. The church has become infected with false doctrine that distorts and flat-out rejects God’s Word. The snake’s first recorded statements from Satan to Eve are:
Satan sows the seeds of uncertainty and mistrust in Eve’s mind with these statements. His follow-up comments, however, were what exposed her to the heresy that led her to doubt and misinterpret God’s will.
Open enmity toward God’s Word has taken numerous forms throughout history. The question this raises, however, is how. A clue is provided in Jude’s letter:
There are those among you whose destinies were written in stone eons ago. To quote Jude, “they are ungodly people, who change the grace of our God into an occasion for immorality, and who put Jesus Christ to open shame” (Jude 1:4).
Due of financial constraints, evildoers were able to infiltrate the church and spread their heretical beliefs. To protect themselves from the dangers of false teaching, God’s people need a strategy that combines persistent, in-depth study of the Bible.
Bible Study on Good News
Good News
The Gospel is not just a theory or a principle. It is the news that God has provided the way for us to be saved from our sins by sending His Son Jesus Christ to die for us on the cross. The Gospel tells us about Jesus and how He came to earth and lived a perfect life. He died on the cross for all of mankind’s sins and rose again three days later to prove that He had defeated death forever. When we believe in Him and accept His gift of salvation, He comes into our hearts and lives and makes us new people who have eternal life with God!
The Bible says in Romans 1:16 “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes…” This means that when we share the Good News, God will use it to change lives. If you are looking for an opportunity to share your faith with others, then look no further than right here—this study guide!
The Power of Good News
The Good News
The good news is that God loves us.
The good news is that Jesus died on the cross for us.
The good news is that when we accept Christ, we are forgiven of our sins, and God will give us eternal life if we ask Him.
The good news is that God will never leave us or forsake us.
The good news is that God loves you.
It’s true. Even when you mess up, even when you make mistakes, even when you don’t know what to do next, God loves you. He knows all about your struggles, and he’s there for you.
The bad news is that we’re all sinners. That means that sometimes we do things that hurt other people—and sometimes we hurt ourselves too. We may not mean to do those things, but they happen anyway. It’s part of being human: we’re imperfect creatures who make mistakes. But God still loves us anyway! He has a plan for each one of us and wants us to follow him so we can be happy in this life and the next one too!
The good news is that God wants you to be happy. He wants you to live a life that’s full of joy and peace, and He has made it possible for you to do so.
The bad news is that we often don’t know how to let ourselves be happy. We’re so used to running around trying to get things done and taking on the world that we forget to take the time out for ourselves and enjoy life.
But here are some ways you can change that:
1) Go outside and take in the fresh air. Nature is a wonderful thing, and spending time in it will help you feel renewed and refreshed.
2) Listen to music! Music has been proven over and over again to have positive effects on our brains, bodies, and even moods! So turn on your favorite tunes or find some new ones, sit back, relax, and enjoy yourself! (I recommend my personal favorite artist: John Mayer.)
3) Read something uplifting! Whether it’s scripture or a good book on self-care, reading is great for your mind as well as your soul, so make sure you get some reading done each day!
Good News of Great Joy
In the Gospel of Luke, Jesus tells his disciples the good news about the birth of a child. This child is the Christ, who will lead people to salvation.
The shepherds tell this same story to Mary and Joseph, who are not yet ready to receive it. They have no place for themselves in such a story, but they do not give up hope that God will provide for them as He has promised.
Then, when they arrive at Bethlehem, an angel appears to them in a dream and tells them where to find the Christ child. They set out on their journey with great joy, and when they arrive at Bethlehem’s manger, they find it filled with light—the light of Christ’s presence in their lives and in ours as well.
