Today’s sermon is about being positive and seeing the good in others. We will be focusing on how we can change our perspective and see the good in things that we normally would not see.
Today, we’re going to talk about how you can take the first step toward acting like a grownup.
Let me ask you this: if you were given a million dollars and told you could do anything with it, what would you do?
Most of us would probably say that we’d invest it, or buy a house or car. But is that really what we’re trying to do? Is it really our goal to get rich? Or is it just a side effect of wanting to feel secure and successful?
About andy stanley sermons today
I think what we want is not so much money as security—the feeling of knowing things will always be okay. And when I say “things,” I’m talking about everything—our job, our friends, our family… even our relationship with God.
When was the last time you felt truly secure in any of these areas? When was the last time your faith in God was unshakable and secure? When was the last time someone looked at you and said “you are amazing,” instead of “you need to change.”
This is why we struggle with anxiety and depression—because deep down inside we know that nothing is ever really secure, no matter how hard we try to make things work out.
